There were criteria, but initially none of them resulted in being limited in the amount of times you could benefit from it.

From my bank accounts I get:
3 x £5 per month from Halifax Rewards
£8 per month from RBS Premier Rewards
Free travel insurance from HSBC Premier
Couple of very nice meals each year at fancy restaurants for me and a friend through my Barclays account (littlebookofwonders) that would probably cost about £150 per person per meal if I was paying

I’m tempted to open the NatWest Premier Rewards as well to benefit from another £8 per month and another 6% regular saver

If you qualify for Premier Rewards it's a good account. I've recently been upgraded which has doubled the amount of cashback I earn compared to the standard version. You can also get the Rewards Credit Card without a fee. The nice thing about that is you earn 1% cashback at supermarkets (0.25% everywhere else). The supermarket offer is good because it's a permanent offer, not time-limited. I know better deals are available elsewhere but this is nice and simple for my weekly shop.

The rebate is also available on the standard Reward account. It is a good deal tho and a very underrated card for people who just want a no-fuss use everywhere credit card.

For the Halifax rewards, is it the actual transaction date or the transaction cleared date that counts please?

Wondering if I made a payment today, if this would count for may. Thanks

Cleared. V likely to count for May today but why risk it? Just wait until Monday if possible.

Thanks, I thought that’d be the case. I’m passing by Leeds BS today, so I think I’ll deposit into easy access to move across online on Tuesday - to be honest, it’s just because I can’t be bothered to go again next week given I’m passing by today 😂. I’ll give it a try 🤞🏼

  • I'm not sure what is considered cash back or rewards.......I get a bit from Santander & a bit from Barclays blue rewards, but that's only because I happen to have those accounts.

I have never gone out of my way to consider any account because of its rewards.....only open it because the interest rate is attractive.

The best pay out was when I converted my AIr Miles into Nectar points.....that gave me a reward of £915 which is being used for my grocery shopping in Sainsburys....but I assume that doesnt count ?

If I were you I'd deposit the money by debit card today. If they are classed as April's rewards, great, you've an extra £5 cashback per account. If they're classed as May's rewards you'll see on the rewards tracker within the next week that they'll have counted for May so will have saved yourself a job for next month.
