Can Sky increase prices a month after i entered a new contract

Im a Sky customer. So after hearing that broadband prices were increasing, i decided to look around back in Jan/ Feb and spotted a £23 bb deal with Sky, which included existing customers, on Twitter. I couldnt manage to access it though, even though i tried via the app and on their website. So had to contact them. What a pain! But then they couldnt match that deal, gave me some bull excuse, but said i could have it for £25 per month until July 24.
Ok, thats fine, signed up and was charged £10 for the pleasure!! Starting with the March bill.
What i wasnt expecting was the April bill was going up to £29 due to their price increase. Surely this isnt allowed? They must of know about this when i signed the new contract. I contacted them today, and they were completely unhelpful. Said it was in the T&Cs. Nothing they could do. Fobbed me off with automated responses. I'm so angry.
Does any one know if they are allowed to do this. Or can i make them honor the original 18 month contract they offered me?

Check the T&C's. I would find it highly unlikely if there wasn't a section on the annual CPI + % increase. Not a lot you can do if that's the case.1

So the answer to your question is Yes. They can. Because that's what you agreed to. And it was announced back in February:Sorry. If you were in the 30 day window of notification you can use that to to find another provider and leave exit penalty free - although I suspect you may be long way past that by now.2 -

Sky are one of the few(?) providers to give you this 'penalty-free exit' option. I took advantage of it after only being signed up to them for about 6 months, and moved elsewhere. If you are outside of this 30 day window, then you don't have many options other than to see out the contract or wait until next April's notification.0
