Morning all. Not raining but not sunny...Cats are enjoying it, the birds are all over the beds and they are watching with drooling chops and occasionally chirruping at them. I went shopping yesterday, boots for bits and pieces, a very large charity shop [ 2 books, one pair of trousers] and lidl to look for a chopping whizzer thing for OHs mum. Her husband was complaining about the size of the carrots in the sauce but after talking to her, her arthritis is paying up and she can't chop very well now, so I got her one of those hand held blitzer things that comes apart and fits on to other things. I find mine so useful [ present from my sister] I thought she might find it that too. Watch this space for feedback. I went to all these places because they're all in the same place. It used to be a disjointed kind of shopping place, with places like Currys etc, but it seems to be turing into a useful array of shops. All blanket things finished now so look out house, it's your turn now. We had italian style fried chicken last night [OH not enthusiastic with reply about whether he wanted another home made kebab so changes were made] with green beans in garlic and parsley with some giddled aubergine and courgette, there's some leftover, so that's tonights supper done and a good nod to veg was performed.Coxy, fabulous picture, I love a friendly cow, well done on your perseverance. Hope it stays dry for you today! Izzy, she is really crusiing isn't she? The gall! Ruby, enjoy the trout, it sounds like a good time was had too, how lovely for them. Gers, glad you're enjoying your visitors and the good sleep they bring
bella, enjoy the hen do! Rosy, sorry your friend is declining, sometimes a positive attitude is all you have left..it can carry you far. Take care today all, it will get sunnier...

Morning All (just)
I woke up early so did a bit of housework - bathrooms cleaned, fire cleaned out and some hoovering. Also been for a swim (16 miles done now) and had a quick visit to the allotment.
Two loads of washing on the line, some of it has been brought in already as it's quite windy today. A bit of ironing to do but that can wait until I can be bothered!
Well done on the inspection Ruby, your guests always seem to have fun with you. Well done on the fishing too - did you gut the trout too?
Hope you enjoy your walking today Coxy.
I bet the fireworks were spectacular Gers, especially with your unspoilt skies.
Grrr to your boss Izzy.
Enjoy Alnwick Gardens dp1, bet that blossom is fantastic.
Hugs to all not feeling too good.
Time for a rest on the sofa, I had a sit down yesterday and woke up 2 hours later!
Take care. XX8 -
Good evening
I'm really sorry to have to let you know that Nelski (Helen) has passed away during the last couple of days
The Old Style daily had become her home from home since she became ill, and she thought of the people that post here as close friends, so I think it is fitting to post the sad news here

How awful, what shocking news, she will be so sadly missed. I know she has been in poor health for the last couple of years but she has borne it so stoically. Ruby, I know you were close, so hugs to you.7
