Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Not raining at the moment but yesterday was raining on and off with several heavy downpours. Next week we're supposed to be having a heat wave - we'll see!
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was use up bits out of the fridge and freezer, today will be the same.
Hopefully I should have a working washing machine by the end of the day, and a new freezer by the end of tomorrow - why does everything happen all at once??
Work has been hectic and will continue like that for the forseeable - not enough staff and it's not being addressed. I just do the best I can.
I'll get done today what I can and will enjoy my day off.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC - sorry to hear that you're needing a new washer and your freezer has been on the blink. Hope it all gets sorted out.
Coxy, well done, loved your pic!
Izzy, I hope your aches and pains subside soon, that sounds like extremely hard work that you are doing.
Well done Ruby on your great review.
TA, you'll be seen busking on the streets of Skipton soon the way money is leaving your purse! Everything is so expensive though, my glasses usually cost a frightening amount as well. Talking about money, I won £10 on the Postcode Lottery!
Yesterday's thread was very newsy, I know that I'm going to forget what folks posted.
Hoping Camelot and Bella are feeling better, and Snoozer, hope the family stuff resolves.
Nice to see you posting NRA, I had wondered if all was well with you.
We had a lovely visit with my friend yesterday morning, her great grandson is such a happy little boy, 18 months old and into everything. We didn't stay long though, I knew that the young ones were going out and my friend was going to tidy up and recover for a while.
Sorry if I've missed anyone, but hope everyone has a good day, whatever you are doing.
Take care folks.11 -

Nmic Hope the white goods all arrive on time and maybe soon they will get the staffing situation sorted
NRA Sorry to hear that the house sale is on a go slow for you i hope the better weather brings out the buyers for you
Coxy Enjoy your walk lovely pics

I won’t be busy this weekend I’m not doing much . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Good morning folks. Not quite the glorious start to the day that we had yesterday though the rain is clearing. The bright blue cold sky was so lovely. I did a quick trip into the bank and then was in the garden for a bit. Oddly enough I was so very tired, I'm not used to being out every evening, so I retired upstairs and was soon in bed. After a very long sleep I'm so refreshed this morning. Mind you, an unexpected fireworks display across the estuary was a lovely interruption, it seemed to be a professional one too.Today will be another mystery. All that's definite is going out with my friends for a farewell meal tonight. I'll need to rest up in readiness.Well done Coxy. And Ruby too. 🎉 Izzy, please pace yourself.Happy Friday to all.10

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A nice sunny start for us and no wind! Sadly rain is forecast for later this afternoon. I am looking forward to next week's heatwave - if it happens!!
SCARLET your busking comment made me laugh! I would make a fortune as, with my voice, I could rake in a fortune when I'm bribed to go and sing somewhere else!
COXY well done you and I hope all goes well for the last lap. I am envious, I used to love walking until my legs decided otherwise.
I've just been down memory lane listening to the tributes and stories on Mary Quant. As a paid up member of the Swinging Sixties I wouldn't step foot out of the house unless I was Quantified! Hot pants, mini skirts, plastic macs, psychedelic black and white dresses with knee high white boots, I lived in them all. Those were the days!
Righto reminiscing over, must get myself moving and make a start on the Friday Tidy. I have yet to christen today's menu so I will do a rummage in the freezer first and see what appeals. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, getting better, MIA and SNOOZER with family issues. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all, we had a glorious sunrise here but it's clouding over now and rain expected in an hour or so. Yesterday was wet and windy so I stayed in, had parcels due anyway. In the evening we went out for a pizza with friends to the pub a few minutes away that DH usually goes to on a Thursday. That is becoming less frequent as one of pals is in Spain for a couple of months, and the other who went out last night has parkinsons & can't always manage it. He and I were at school together & it's sad to see him declining like this but he tries to stay upbeat. The pizza was a treat as I eat low carb these days and haven't had one for over a yearI am going to pop into town to change my library books in a bit, and have a last sentimental visit to marks before it shuts forever tomorrowI think we'll have air fryer fried chicken tonight, menfolk seem to enjoy that too.Good luck with the rest of your walk Coxy.Hope the issues get sorted soon Snoozer.Bye for now and hope you all enjoy your day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all
Dull and overcast here and more rain due later, day off for me and I am going to meet a very old friend for coffee and cake this morning, we have not seen each other for years and then bumped into each other in a shop so it will be nice to catch up.
The fishing went really well yesterday we caught two lovely big trout, the man who helped us very quickly and humanly dispatched them, it was not as upsetting as I feared, I offered one to my clients mum but she declined so I have two lovely trout for OH and I for dinner tonight, DD is working a late shift so she won’t want any, the event was all run by the masons charity and they put on a BBQ for us after, all the clients got a goodie bag and a certificate and a medal, one of our lady clients caught four fish ! It was a lovely event and the clients loved it.
As I said dinner tonight will be the trout baked in the oven with garlic and lemon with some new potatoes and peas.
I have put a wash on this morning which will have to stay inside to dry off.
Coxy well done on your walk x
H good days all and take care xx10 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the thoughts, it's much appreciated. Hopefully things are resolving themselves slowly, I find it very difficult because I've always been a jump in and sort it person and I can't in this situation.
TA, I'm another who has to pay a fortune to be able to see properly. Talking of which Steve is having problems with his good eye. Apparently skin is growing across his new cataract lens (it happens in 10% of cases) and needs to be lasered off. His viision is getting worse though so we might have to pay for the op rather than waiting.
Izzy, I'm sorry your boss is so unsupportive, roll on retirement day.
I'm going to Cambridge with Laura and Esther soon, she needs some new clothes. Fish and chips for dinner - from the freezer so a nice easy meal.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning everyone
Lovely and sunny here but it's forecast to rain later - I've got a load of washing on the line so hopefully it will wait until it's dry. I'm going to make a big pan of bolognese sauce this morning and need to hoover and tidy a bit. I'm going down to sit with dad this afternoon as my mam is going to a funeral -- he wants me to put a bet on tomorrow's Grand National for him. Then I expect I'll be getting little one for tea and a sleepover later. I might take her to Alnwick Gardens tomorrow to see the blossom trees in flower - I was going to leave it till it's warmer next Saturday but realised I already have plans.
Izzy - you should take some time off sick - your boss would soon realise how much work you do!
Redruby - well done on your fishing trip - I'd love your tea tonight
Gers - enjoy your meal with your friends later
Sorry I can never remember what everyone has said but I hope everyone has a good day x7 -
Morning all. Bit of doing potting on etc in greenhouse, then I’m out to lunch with the ladies to a new little bistro opened in our (large) village.
Looking forward to better weather
take care allCarolbee6
