Was this "quay" on dockland? If so, it may be covered by byelaws. Was the PCN a "Penalty" or a "Parking" Charge Notice?
There is a harbour, and a Sunseeker manufacturing centre/ship yard. I'm not if that constitutes as dockland officially.

According to the letter I received from BW legal, it is a PCN, this is the only correspondence I have received.
I suggest you SAR the PPC now. DOes the BW Legal letter just say "PCN" or does it spell out "Penalty" or "Parking"?

It specifies Parking Charge Notice. Thank you I will put in a SAR with Brittania.

Please don't tell BW to tell Britannia your new address.  That wasn't the advice given, which included the key word 'erase'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • So I told BW legal to erase my old address as well as the address held by their client. They said they hold the address as my previous address and that they couldn't remove it and dodged the question when I asked why, telling me to pay up before ending the live chat. Unsure what more I can do there. I thought it might be breach of the right to erasure under the ICO guidelines, is it?

Do you have a transcript of the "live chat"? If you don't and from here on in, you must make sure that any comms with these scammers and their equally bottom-dwelling solicitors is by email. If you have no record of what has been said then you are setting yourself up even more muggings.

Email the DPO of BWL and "order" them to "erase" your old address and to update their records with your current address. You also "order" them to tell their clients to "erase" and update their records too. The words in quotation marks are highlighted for a reason.

Yes, I made sure of that. I have it saved. I'll email the DPO.

    I have now:
    • Requested a SAR from the PPC.
    • Requested erasure of old address with DPO of BW (not update).
    • Informed BW I am seeking debt advice and to put case on hold, and that I am requesting a SAR.
Thank you very much for the help thus far, I appreciate it can be really repetitive for you, but to someone coming into this for the first time it is like a labyrinth to navigate, so your help is invaluable.

For now I just want to ask, who might I complain to in this instance in an effort to get it cancelled before it evolves further? I'm unsure how to find out who the land owner is, and I searched for anything relating to bylaws affecting the car park but nothing came up.

Where exactly did this parking event take place?
Has the site been mentioned before on this forum?

Just checking  -  have you also advised PPC of your correct address and erase old one?
