Thanks everyone for all your advice. As I am already with them, I have selected an O2 pay monthly deal via MSE for 6GB/month @£6.99/month. The next problem will be moving everything from my old phone to my new phone without losing it all; including the WhatsApp messages!0

I just took this deal linked above via o2 retentions.... in the end I got 10GB ,12mths ,£6 per month .Neil49 said:I'm with O2 but renewed my contract yesterday via Virgin to get 5gb data for £6 per month.

Select the O2 deal rather than Virgin and you get taken straight to the O2 website. Deal includes 3 months Disney +.
Select the I'm already a customer option and decline a new sim.
Apologies for the big link but I'm on my mobile in Caffè Nero.
Wanted to thank you for the virgin/o2 link
I couldnt do it online for password change reasons.
So phoned o2
They tried it on at first with a 24mths offer then in the end I got 12mths with even more data at 10GB per month so it was a result .Cheers1 -
I just "upgraded" my existing O2 sim only from 20GB (12 months) to 20GB (12 months) using the deal link on the MSE cheapest sims.
Took me back to where I was (£8.00/month) pre the annual CPI+3.9% change (which raised it to over £9)
I do place some value on O2 Priority & extras which is why I stick with them even though I could save a £ or 2 per month elsewhere.0 -
I've just got off the phone with O2 retentions who initially tried to offer me 6GB for £6.99 per month. I directed them to the Virgin website with the 6GB for £6 offer. He couldn't find this deal on his system at all so I mentioned that someone on this forum had been offered 10GB for £6 last week. He was able to find this deal. He told me it had to be 24 months but I persisted and said that the person on this forum had been offered a 12 month contract. He was then able to magically find the 12 month contract button.TOP_CAT said:

Hopefully this experience will help someone else who can now cite in turn that the 10GB for £6 on a 12 month contract was available on 2nd June!
As others have mentioned, I know that I could get a cheaper monthly package but a couple of bacon rolls and coffees a month and I have made back my £6. It's a real shame that the cinema ticket deal has ended!0 -
Well done !
I wouldnt mention MSE as they will eventually just state BS and say "that offers finished" but it has worked so thats the main thing
Perhaps better to just stick to your guns ..10gb £6 12mths
Rinse and repeat in a year0
