Yup three brews Fayolle. And toast with the third brew.
I am now dressed - in a fashion. For some obscure reason (obscure even to me and I did it ) I've put on the trousers that I want to wear to go out in this afternoon and the top that I slouch at home in. So I've brought down the opposite matching pair to rearrange myself later.
I've sploshed bleach down the loo, fed the birds and put out the recycling.
Still feel like I'm running on empty so easy does it.

I have nipped into work and solved a problem, came home, cleaned under the hall table and watered the orchids (6 of them now - I only wanted 1 but I appear not only not to be able to kill them but to be good at looking after them) and repotted the baby (smallest and newest) into a proper orchid pot, at it came just in a decorative pot with no drainage and has been in an ordinary plant pot pro tem. Anyway, it must like it here as it's now flowering again. 4 of the 6 are in bloom or about to be. Words have been had with the slackers.
So now I am planning on cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. I have washing on the line. DD is walking somewhere in the national park.

Vacuum cleaned downstairs. Maybe it’s like riding a bike - a skill once learned, never forgotten.Next on the list - check out the sad plant babies in the gh. I’m not even thinking about the allotment that I can’t dig due to the wet ground.6

Evening,
Feels like I've been busy all day but not much flying.
Your post did make me laugh Roundtuit, I can so relate.
Call to insurance company re broken tablet. Confirmation received they will cover cost except excess so appointment made to go to Cambridge tomorrow to get repair done. Ridiculous that its a round trip of 70+ miles but at least it will get done. Bits n pieces of general tidying done before taking doogie for grooming. Met DD in town and had coffee while waiting for dog and got bits we needed. Then small food shop to get stuff for dinner tomorrow and lunches next week. I may have then had a nap on the sofa prior to making curry dinner with the last of last weeks leg of lamb. Kitchen cleaned and I now need to work out how to back up the Ipad ready for tomorrow.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!7 -
Evening all.
Glad to hear that pigpen's DD and grandbaby are homeGWS to the pukey girls xx
Well done with the hoover, Fayolle x Hope your DH made it to town in time to get lunch!
Sorry you are so worn out, round - enjoy your days off x
Good news about the insurance, kazmeister x
Hope there was a good cake at the birthday party, kazwookie! x
We had a good day yesterday, with a trip to the Banbury area to meet DD and DGS2 for lunch at a lovely pub. DGS2 took charge of the coffee cake that I had made at 9.30pm the night before - I hope it got home in one piece! We stopped at a GC on our way home and I bought a bright peachy orange rain-/windproof jacket. Driving through downpours was not my idea of fun, though, and Rosie was sad because she didn't get a proper walk after lunch along the canal because the tow path was just one puddle after another.
Today has been a productive day here:
- Knowing that DS1 would be coming to do various bits from my Toots list later, I made another coffee cake and a fruit cake
- DH hoovered some of the downstairs (mostly his BR and the utility, it would appear)
- I dusted and hoovered upstairs and the rest of downstairs, and actually got round to mopping the kitchen floor - hooray!
- DH went off to play war games again, and I popped down to the local shops to get a few bits including some naan bread (they even had the vegan variety for DDiL1)
- DS1 arrived with DGD1+2, and together we completed about 10 little tasks off my Toots list that I couldn't do on my own
- With DGD2 acting as sous-chef, I cooked 3 curries - vegan, chicken with onion, and chicken without onion or garlic, served with rice and naans - with grapes for afters.
- DDiL1 arrived in time for tea. Every little bit got eaten except two small portions of the vegan version, which I can easily stretch with a few more veg, so that's Monday night's tea sorted
- The floor needed hoovering again after they had gone because the girls brought mud in from the garden, but that was OK
- I walked Rosie before it got dark
- DH filled the DW and washed up one of the saucepans; I found the other two and did them them, as well as re-washing the bits on the SC and the saucepan lids that he'd missed. I forgive him on this occasion as he was trying to ward off a migraine. I sent him to bed early.
Tomorrow I must file all the papers that are lying on the spare bed...
See you all on the new thread xxx

Hallooooo xx
So this is what feeling vaguely hoooman is like! I think I'd forgotten. 🤔
I'm up, made my bed, had two brews and toast, sorted the laundry into loads and first load is swishing. The sun is breaking through so it will be pegged out to dry later.
I read this week that someone found a huge spider in their bananas. One that grows as big as your hand! Judging by the way I just jumped to escape from a spider roughly the size of my thumbnail I think such a discovery in my bananas would be a severe cardiac test. Shudder.
Aaand. I keep seeing 'ways to use up left over Easter eggs'. Eh? Left over Easter eggs? How is that even a thing? Not at this house it isn't!!!! I've been buying hot Cross buns to eat with my pack up instead of a sarnie. I love, love, love hot cross buns. But they don't half make your crisps taste funny!
I'm going to read a chapter of my book - then get dressed.
Have a good day

Drizzle on and off here. And chilly. Washing up to date, as DD is back to uni later today so I had a deadline. Choc chunk cookies made for her to take back and share with her house - the sharing bit might be rationed and one or 2 might make it my way. Quality control, you see 😊.
Round, call me a traditionalist but a cheese and onion crisp hot cross bun buttie is just a bit too out there for me. 🤣 I obviously need to get out more and keep up with the new foodie trends.
Iona - that looks like a really productive couple of days. I’m so worn out by it, that I’ve had to have a rest on your behalf 😉.
Have a good Sunday all x6 -
