Not the way to finish the day. Closing the curtains to sit down and chill with the iPad, slip on the sofa, knee knocks iPad which was upright against the back and hear a pop. Trashed the screen and the estimate to repair is £645 😭😭😭Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!6

Ouch! kazmeister
I spent couple of hours sorting out my car insurance before lunch, but by changing provider I have saved myself almost £45 (20%) off the renewal quote and paid only about £10 more than last year - very pleased
Tomorrow DH has his horse piddle procedure so meanwhile I shall go to cardio rehab at the other end of the building and then sit in the cafe with my phone, a book and my K!nd1e, in the hope that he will be let out promptly for good behaviour.
I need to be up at 5.00 to make sure that he is awake to take his last dose of gunk, so I'll say G'night now xxx6 -
Rain here too but persuaded by a friend to go for a lake swim, which was quite fun. Returned to my house for cake, coffee and chat with friend.
One load through DW.
One load through WM, hung out later as sun and strong wind emerged after lunch.
Did lots more seed sowing/pricking out seedlings in greenhouse, which is now very full.
Did a bit of a report.
Spent time with Mr N noting down details for my treat weekend - sorting out trains, buses and possible meal places. Big eek to London food prices which I'm told not to worry about as it's a birthday treat, but heck! Looking for vouchers..... He told me that he has invited my honorary cousin/friend to Saturday night's theatre and dinner, which was a lovely surprise - not entirely unexpected as she lives in London and we meet up with her every few months, but nothing had been suggested - turns out he has been secretly arranging it via WhatsApp!
Fayolle I have kept Calla lilies for a few years before now, I put them in the greenhouse over winter as they won't stand frost or cold. I've just kept them in their pots, but having just G00gled it, seems you can also keep the bulbs dry then re-plant them. Also it said continue to feed them in pots after the flowers are over, until the foliage dies back.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
I love calla lilies.. the last lot we bought were reduced to £3 in tesc0 and lasted 6 yearrs.. we never did anything to them, they sat on the fireplace and then on the kitchen windowsill for 6 years.. they were fed tomato feed every 6 months but we never cut them back and they remained green and lush and would flower for months with a month or so break every 6 months or so.. they eventually died when Hazel decided they were her bed. EC bought me one for my birthday in December and it is still flowering beautifully on my kitchen window sill. I am so greenfingered I kill dandelions so there is absolutely no skill there!
3 items parcelled for collection tomorrow and I need to print a return slip for Squeaks school bag.. the zippy bits of the zip came off because the ends were not stitched in place.. not happy when the bag was £36!!!
Tuesday I need to book dance class/musical theatre for the turnips.
Malted milk and garibaldi in the tin and horlicks and cocoa in those big flasks on the side for the WAC.. night night xx

It's been a sunny morning and I've walked Poppet, done dailies and changed bedding. It will go on the airer though as rain is forecast. I've also had a long phone call with a friend, done some admin and sorted through all my makeup and ordered some new eyeshadows.Spend less now, work less later.7

Thank you, Narc0 and Piggers, for the calla lily info. I am like the hand of death to most plants, so we will see.
I was in the WAC for many hours last night (sorry if I over indulged on the biscuits. I will replace them - butter shortbreads tonight, ladies, if you fancy them), worrying about work. So I went in on my day off. I stuck resolutely to what I wanted to achieve, ignoring the long list that the auditors thought was funny to send over. Nope, sorry, don’t work Tuesdays, so you will have to wait until tomorrow 😈. They want to teach me how to suck eggs, so the rest of this week will be fun. Dropped a parcel off for DD on way to work. Something else out of the house.
DH has dropped DD off in big town, and he is on the rota to pick her up later. Not for nothing did I do the stints at the stables at the weekend. So this evening I have made a flying attempt:
bedding changed
wm x 1 run
clean washing sorted
hair washed (won’t matter tomorrow if the rain and wind doesn’t ease up)
dinner rustled up from LO in the freezer
pack up done for tomorrow
WULTD
kitchen sort of tidied.
And now I am so totally done with today.
Iona - I hope the horse piddle appointments went ok x6 -
Another one here who enjoyed the WAC biscuits, thank you pigpen. I was awake at 4.30 so was ready to wake DH to take his gunk on the dot of 5.00.
DH came out of his horse piddle appointment with a smile, and I managed my cardio rehab exercises quite well considering that it was over a week since I had last gone to the gym, so of course they have now upped the difficulty! Thanks for asking, Fayolle.
I received a text today from the GP surgery telling me to come in for a face-to-face appointment rather than telephone with the physio first thing tomorrow morning. That sounds promising - or should I be very, very afraid?
DH has gone to his model railway club, and I have spent a pleasant evening researching dog-friendly pubs along the M40, for meeting up with DD and DGS2 for lunch on Friday: I am leaving DD to choose between four. If it were my choice I would definitely go for the one with the licensee who told me "Dogs are welcome in the bar; children have to be on leads!" - but I don't think he'd have any problem with DGS2, who is a delight to take out.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks to all, as needed, but especially to those Flyfriends who would have liked a longer Easter holiday xxx6
