  • I think they look for cleft palate and cleft lips on scans Lucy, so it could just to be to check for all of that stuff. It's quite standard I think. My DD's scan had to be done 3 times because she wouldn't lie the right way to get a view of something.

It may just be that they couldn't see the baby's pallate which is a risk marker for downs... I'm sure it's just precautionary though

    Thanks

It just sounded strange that they were able to sex the baby during the scan but couldn't see it's face

I dislike my cousin on many levels and disagree with her behaviour, but wouldn't wish there to be anything wrong with the baby.

  • It really does all depend on the way the baby is laying Lucy. My DD was laying fine to see her bits for us to know it was a 'her', but there was something they couldn't see so we had to go back and we had 3 scans all in all.

    Ok I was just worried.

My cousin married in May and split from her husband in Oct (just after she foud out she was pregnant) and I know he will never forgive her if there is something wrong. He disagrees very strongly with her behaviour. I also know that she wants a perfect baby so if something is wrong baby will be dumped with Dad. Harsh, but there we go.

Thanks I will wait and see what happens

At the end of the day it's not the baby's fault. But hopefully it will scary her enough to stay sober from now on!

Only 1 and a bit more days at work!!!! I am SO excited!!
