Honestly, while a tragic event, I can't say it's surprising. Scare tactics seem to be the go to for many media outlets these days as that's what get's people's attention. Reporting from an honest, balanced perspective doesn't draw in the common person who may not read much beyond the headline of any given article, let alone do any amount of fact checking.
I'm sure those outlets probably aren't the slightest bit concerned what impact that might have on those who are all too trusting of the hundreds of articles that get spewed out day after day with few genuine thought or facts put into them.Moo…2 -
I am sure Martin Lewis himself was banging the drum there will be deaths last summer in the media before the winter.0

Seen far too few articles balance the cost with the aid available. Many low users may actually paying less this winter despite the EPG being set at roughly twice last winters Ofgem cap.£400 EBSS and £150 was the standard help I got over and above EPG - which as a low user is obviously proportionally more and less in £s - it didn't quite cancel it all - but it sure took the edge off.Fear can be paralysing. The rush to sensational bait click articles even on once reputable sources like BBC internet - and many newspapers - really doesn't help.Like yesterdays Opec - it was "oil prices surge" headlines - not "oil prices recover from dip".The editors in charge - and wider society - including govt - really need to take this to heart. The sad thing is 10,000s used to and probably still do die of cold related issues in the UK every winter - the introduction of the WFP is claimed to have saved c12,000 pa - leaving many more.

I wonder how many will be in sheer panic mode on 23rd April when the "Government's" emergency message is blasting out on their phones?I suspect it will mostly be those who have been totally brainwashed by the MSM over the last three years. And don't know how to switch off the function in the settings? Mine is, even the "earthquake alert"!0

It'll be like hearing "War of the Worlds" on the Radio and not realising it's a play!! 😉How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)2
