  • Hi,  OP here again,

I now have a "notice of impending court action" although on their own headed paper, not from a solicitor

they now want £160, the latest letter doesn't explain why the extra £60

they say that the next step will be court action, administration and legal costs will be added which "will likely exceed £100"

the letter's threat of a CCJ is freaking the Wife out, she's completely taken in by it all

Please tell her there is no need for letters like this freak people out.  There's nothing to fear. I'm an ordinary woman who appears in court to fight these false 'PCNs' and I wrote the NEWBIES thread.  Other posters here are also not legally trained and many regular contributors here are retired.

We are all ordinary folk who know a scam when we see one, and we urge people to rise above this scam and call it out. There is no reason to be scared of debt demand letters. Post #4 of the NEWBIES thread covers your stage. No worries.

... I am saying 'ouch' in my head at the the derogatory (IMHO) phrase 'the wife' though!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Until you receive a letter that fully complies with the linked Pre Action Protocols for debt claims, you do not have to respond or do anything:

District Enforcement ...like the rest of these Hooray Henrys simply don't understand the Parking Eye v Beavis case. If they did, they would not add a fake £60 which a BPA scam   YOU DO NOT OWE £160

    Very silly of
District Enforcement to threaten a CCJ, WHEN IT'S NOT BEEN TO COURT ...so stupid to think they will win ?

It's because of such stupidity that government wants to bring these Hooray Henrys under control

Tell your wife not to worry, you are here now

Ask Mrs @splurgegun to read some of the posts on the forum with you to show there is no need to freak out and no risk of CCJ if you follow our guidance.

Hi,  I was wondering if anybody knew how to pay a "trial fee" to the County Court at Crewe and how to submit a witness statement please.

The notice of allocation to the Small Claims Track hearing only provides a telephone number which is permanently engaged.

The Cheshire East Council website provides an email address ch-crewectycivil@hmcts.gsi.gov.uk which I may be able to use to submit my witness statement

    Thanks

    C

The email addresses on that Council webpage are years out of date.
Even their court finder web address is well out of date.
It does say that webpage was last updated in 2018 - so it is now next to useless.
    Use this - https://www.gov.uk/find-court-tribunal

Are these questions related to your earlier thread about District Enforcement?
If so, please keep all discussion about that one incident to that single thread.

Why do you want to pay a trial fee. Are you making a claim or a counterclaim?
I married my cousin. I had to...

Thanks Keith, yes my question was related to District Enforcement.  Your link has a newer email but doesn't mention payment of court fees, but thanks anyway

Fruitcake, i have to attend the hearing related to the above and a "trial fee" is due 28 days beforehand
