Hi everyone!
Not much decluttering going on here this week. Instead I am trying to make sure I finish off what I've started. Consequently I'm going with the "everything in its place and a place for everything" theory so storage has been my priority. All the bird seed is in a biscuit tin snaffle from Christmas [no more sweeping out the base of the cupboard where the darned stuff has spilt for the nth time] and I've also earmarked a tin from work for my biscuit cutters [now where could such good ideas have been pinched from I ask myself!]- currently they're all scattered at the back of the cupboard...it's like a lucky dip, search for a heart for Valentines and I'll only be able to find a pumpkin or a bat:D This week's menu will be based around freezer/cupboard contents so that I can run them down, sort them out and degrime them. Wonder if OH will be up for a spot of alcholic beverage decluttering with me this week as I earmark all the nearly empty bottles!!
I've got a couple of quotes about children for you this time:
Before I was married I had three theories about raising children, Now I have three children and no theories.
John Wilmunt, Earl of Rochester 1647-1680
There are two special gifts we can give our children: one is roots the other is wings.
Anon
Hope you enjoy them

I've been lurking for a while with great interest and have only posted a couple of times....not really contributed anything to this thread.....but I have been inspired by it.
Having followed the link to the zen habits site yesterday, I was determined that I was going to make every effort to make some time just for me today.
Just picture the scene.....
DH has gone off to watch his football team in some big match tonight, so I had the house to myself.
My lovely SIL had bought me some mini bottles of Cava from M&S - just enough in each for one person.
I lit some candles, poured a chilled glass of Cava, put on some of my favourite relaxing music, lay back on the sofa anticipating a wonderful chill-out session.....
Now tell me, who bought the bl**dy dog that squeeky toy for Xmas?????
Why does he have to play with it now?
Why can't I stop laughing long enough to take the blasted thing off him?
(it's a shame, he's enjoying playing with it SO much, I haven't the heart to spoil his fun)
Oh well, back to the drawing board!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

I'm having what my friends have dubbed a Dee-Bay day.
Instead of a traditional housewarming, I'm having a clear out. There will be food and drink and a bookshelf full of all the things I want to give away. I told them to bring things they don't need as well and put on the bookshelf, then I have invited about 20 people round to see my flat for the first time and take something from the bookshelf. Anything that is left is going to charity. February will not come with my flat full of things I don't want or need.Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
I think today will be anything but 'simplyfying'...............unless someone knows how to simplyfy my brain/life/kids..........etc......................lol
Traumatic night and this morning with one of our lads involving sneaking out, sneaking in new girlfriend...............ex girlfriend (who doesn't realise she's an 'ex' turns up this morning..............row ensues !)
This lad should have gone to work...............excuse was that ribs were playing up ........he'd fallen over in his bedroom he said............yeah ??
Said he was going to the doctors but now admits theres nothing wrong with him................earlier on I went upstairs and found girl in his room !! Chucked her out then she came back then ex came back...................now lad wants to move out........................he won't, and at this rate he'll get the sack from his job. In 3 weeks he's yet to do a full week.
So, all plans to attack our bedroom and sift through goodies that might make good pressies for birthdays/christmas are out the window I'm afraid.
Oh well...............best laid plans as they say....................tomorrow is another day:rolleyes:Mary

A simple pimple type contribution today from me really. I think I am going to list my 5 blessings and stick them to my fridge to help me regain my perspective and refocus on what is important to me when I've been a bit of an evil old witch to those within my inner sanctum within the last couple of days [if I'm tired the old anxiety depression tries to rear its ugly head]. Mine shall read my family/friends/good health/a roof over my head/knowing where my next meal is coming from. My logic is that if it's on the fridge I am likely to see it regularly as rummaging around in the fridge is quite one of my most favourite places to be:D
