Ok today sorted old towels out for dog owning friend, gone through some paperwork and put the shredder to good use, but now after spending and hour and a half in the dentist chair:eek: going to wrap myself up and just browse on here to be inspired for the rest of the day;)

Will be heading to Wales this summer to visit yurtler families and have a chat about what to expect and pick up yet more info. But a little like having a child it is still a leap of faith and all the research in the world will probably not fully prepare for the reality.

A good site to look on, if anyone is thinking of volunteering, is the Do It website https://www.do-it.org.uk Many, if not all of the Volunteer Centres post their vacancies on there. You enter your town or postcode to look for local vacancies and there is an advanced search facility to look for a specific interest. You can also find your local Volunteer Centre, unless it is one of the many that have been axed, due to lack of funding.

Today we have:

sorted through paperwork drawer and shredded/binned loads
de-cluttered some more of our bedroom
freecycled yogurt maker, rice cooker, perculator, george foreman, juicer & dinner set-dont use any of them
sorted some stuff to put on Ebay when cheap listing day

Just when I come for air having ploughed through my desk,cleared all the rubbish out, put stuff away etc. and think I've cleared my mind at the same time..............life happens.............doesn't it always ?
I get a phone call from a desparate mum whos lad used to live with us and since he left has got in really bad trouble.......she doen't know his friends phone numbers so I end up ringing round to try and find him for her............then I realise I needed repeat prescription................like pretty urgent !! However the doctor works it out with two lots of tablets it never balances out.............I end up with loads of one sort and none or the other or vice versa...............I take 5 a day.............2 a day from a bottle, three from a box in those fiddly tin foil things.............normally guage it by how many are in the bottle.............plenty there I thought till I looked at all the empty boxes.:eek: ..........(why didn't I throw them away once they were emptied ?).........so quick call to the doctors for appt. for prescription..........only way to get one straight away in the morning (Ive got enough till then). Normally I have to e mail it through, they won't take it over the phone anymore, or go to the surgery...........what a carry on. So now, where I was feeling all smug that I'd actually done something productive with my oh so cluttered up desk thus clearing my head of rubbish as well,it's now overladen again......................
Memo to self..................chuck away empty tablet boxes !!!!!!!!
Can't say no to someone needing help on the phone..........I know I should, this lad is not my responsibility but I cant refuse someone in a state like that now can I ?

Well I have to admit it did sophiesmum, and its really a case of 'there but for the grace of god etc...........' I'd like to think if it were me, someone would take time out for me.Just need to get hold of the lad concerned now.He needs help but is almost afraid to ask. It meant ringing round a lot of people, including another boy who lived with us for a while .......always ends a phone call with 'love you'............now that really meant something.............so maybe sometimes, just sometimes, we have these things thrown at us for a reason.

And at least my desk is cleared..........I'll get my tablets in the morning and in future chuck the empty boxes away soon as they're used. My own stupid fault and I think thats what made me so cross with myself.
