Have manages to throw 11 items/things from my conservatory so far today, so still have another 16 to find.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I've always got the makings of a meal for at least 6 people and keep a tin with biscuits for doling out with tea and coffee. It makes me feel guilty if I can't offer people a meal and/or a snack. I'd love to be like one of my friends who always says that if you want a biscuit or cake at her house, you'd better bring it with you. That's a simplistic attitude that I just can't copy.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Have just watched clips on oscars run up so definately will. Have also made a list for decluttering tomorrow, including my backlog of work-ho hum, so have plenty to go at- but it will free my mind up a bit.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Well fate has intervened to force me to sort out my books once and for all. At 5am my bookshelves collapsed and hundreds of books came thudding to the floor around my bed. Almost had a heart attack! My bedroom is just strewn with books now so will spend the day sorting into piles of what to keep and what to freecycle/flog to the 2nd hand bookshop. OH is at work today so an opportunity arises to chuck stuff while he's not here to notice.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0

most of us have been brainwashed into buying new things as often as possible by all the marketing hype created in todays world.
I hate our throw-away society, and this forum is such a breath of fresh air
Thanks everyone, Im making plans to simplify things today!0 -
Morning all ! Just had to post to say that I started reading Affluenza by Oliver James last night and I heartily recommend it. He discusses how we are brainwashed as E Scrooge mentions above. I borrowed my copy from the local library.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

I walked to a dental appointment this morning instead of taking my car. This had the following benefits:
1 - I got some exercise
2 - I saved £1.50 parking fee
3 - I bought a "magic" colouring in book for DGS with the £1.50 (2p change for his piggy bank)
I feel I'm getting the hang of this simple lifestyle." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
