    Spoke too soon: UU:

Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Perfecting Primer -
I used to use the Blemish-less one from the original line up of primers and this was the closest to that when they reformulated.  I love these primers because they are silicon free and don't clog my pores and definitely help my makeup stick around a lot longer.  Also I've just looked back and seen that I had used this for over a year, pretty much every day, and definitely every time I wore base makeup.  However have reached for something new to replace it with - a mini size of the ELF Power grip primer with niacinamide.  Will wait and see how good this one is.

Another UU : 30ml bottle of D'Alchemy Skin Repair Oil.  This must have come in a goody bag.  This was gorgeous. Smelt like geranium and made my skin so soft in the mornings however it's £50 a bottle and I got through this in just under a month (and there were some nights when I alternated between using this and my serum).

Speaking of primers, I am still in love with the MAC Radiant one.  I recently used the Base Visage one as I bought it by mistake and when I finished that I opened a small jar of Bobbi Brown Face Base.  I've seen numerous YouTuber reviews of this product and each and every one of them has raved about it being an excellent primer.  Well, thankfully for me it's not.  I'm now using it as a mosturiser with my MAC one on top.  It is a lovely moisturiser but again I don't want to pay that price.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I can't use the Bobbi Brown one either - it just breaks me out.  The ELF one I'm trying at the moment is ok...but I don't think it's as good as my Laura Mercier one so will probably go back to that when this one is done.

I have a few IN's to report soon - I had a Body Shop birthday voucher that was expiring, plus some credit with a couple of other online stores and I need to go buy shampoo and conditioner at the weekend *hides the credit card!*

Hi all! A couple of UUs from me:

Clarins Eye Contour Gel - Love the feeling of this on the skin but doesn't think it is a good value for money as I have gone through it very quickly. It was a freebie I think and WNBA.

2 perfume samples: Michael Kors - Wonderlust, really liked the scent. Estee Lauder - Modern Muse, really nice one too but maybe more for autumn/winter for me.

Gucci - Bamboo: HG, I have more in my stash. Great scent but I feel like a change sometimes.

TA - Clarins Lip Oil, very little left in it and gone gloopy. Really like this though so WBA at some point.

  • Thanks for the well wishes- all recovered from covid and managed to have a nice, albeit quiet Easter- still had a tasty roast on Sunday! <3  Hope everyone had good Easters too!

A few UUs from over Easter and a few INS from a trip to Boots this morning.
    • Isntree Spot Saver Mugwort Ampoule: Undecided on this- doesn't feel particularly soothing or anything.  Has nothing in it specifically for for spots either, other than generally soothing ingredients which are meant to be anti-inflammatory, so it was a bit of an oddly named product.  I think they've recently changed the name to a more appropriate 'calming ampoule'.  Got my I'm From mugwort essence in the stash that I'll be using next.
    • Mad about Skin Nourishing Lip Conditioner:  Like this balm, not too heavy but does feel nourishing.  Is also a big tub, so quite an economical ointment.  I got a free one of these as a gift with puchase the other month, so have one in the stash ready to go!
    • Umberto Giannini Grow Mask Hair and Scalp Treatment:  Smells delicious!  Don't know how effective it is for hair growth as tbh my hair gets greasy quickly since it's fine, so would rather not put conditioner all over my scalp.  Think I will treat myself to the banana Body Shop hair mask next as a little treat- smells really good and leaves my hair nice and soft.

    INS
    • Batiste Dry Shampoo - Medium & Brunette 350ml:  Current can is feeling a bit light, so replacement ready to go
    • The Inkey List- Salicylic Acid Cleanser: Using up a travel -size Simple cleanser as my brush/beauty blender cleaner, but I don’t think that works very well, so repurchased this as my Simple one feels like it is finishing soon.
    • Sure Nonstop Protection 72H- Cotton Dry 75mL:  needed a travel-sized deo, but didn't want the diddiest.  This is a good inbetween size, small but not tiny so should last a few weekends away.

Catching up, good to know everyone had a good Easter.

Tossing a Tarte mascara (Lights, Camera, Lashes) mini size.  Hated it.  Came out clumpy on the brush, didn't do much on my eyelashes.  Gave it a good week of tries and it just didn't get better.   I wanted to like it because I'd heard good things about the brand.   Nope.

    UU

Yves Rocher Argan Rose Hamman Handcream, 30ml.   Really liked it, smell wasn't really rose more of the argan oil but did the job, would buy again if I ever run out of handcream.

Clarins Mission Perfection Serum 10ml.   Lasted over a month and I remembered to use it twice a day most time.  Nope WNBA.  Did nothing, so no improvement of dark sports or evening out of skin tone.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O micellar water 100ml.   Works for taking off my eyemake up and top layer of blush.

Hit the pan on a gwp palette from Estee Lauder, blush and one of the eyeshadow shades.  It was a limited edition they did with Coach handbags ages ago.  Predicably it's the brown, that's hit pan and they've discontinued that shade of eyeshadow.

More chances to use things up for the next couple of months, I've got a foot injury and am on desk duties for the foreseeable future, which means office hours and I have time to wear make up!

UU - Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin™ Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream. I have purchased this several times now and will do so again. It is probably on top 3 products from BP for me. It feels great on skin and hydrates really well. For the price (I'm a member), you can't go wrong.
