'the straps are not made to restrain the child'.
What are they for then? Hanging the washing on?I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
I have the exact same buggy and I know what you mean about the straps - we used to have to thread the back bottom strap through the front strap (where it comes through the back) so it was tighter but my son could still get out of the harness
I never thought to bring it up with Mothercare, and I don't use it now as DS is 26mths and we got him a sit down buggyboard to attach to our new Maclaren buggy.
I hope you manage to get somewhere with this as it is outraegous, they should recall them, as they are not safe at all.

Sorry to sound like an old bore... but I never had shoulder straps for my 2 older children and they never came to any harm (nor anywhere near it).
Anyway it doesn't excuse bad design...I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
Hi
Mothercare ... tut.
After putting up our cot after several years of storage, we realised a piece was missing. The swingy locking thingy that holds up the drop down bit. So, having purchased the cot, albeit some time previous, from Mothercare I went in to ask about spares. £15.00 plus postage !!! eek. So being fat and skint, I pondered a minute and thought sod it I'll just get Hubby to put a screw through so it is just permanently up.
So I informed the Assistant that I didnt want to order it and told her my plan .... and she replied ....... "I have to advise you not to do that as it could result in the death of your child and we would not be responsible" ahhhhhh !.
Now I appreciate what she was trying to say, but you just dont say that to a pregnant woman with raging hormones ...... After a severe dressing down from my Mother, she did apologise but only because I was snivelling and not very happy.
Got a free thingy and £20 voucher !!0 -
I notice it's reduced in price, is that cos it's rubbish & not selling?
My one (graco) decided it's wheels would get stuck & nearly toppled into oncoming car, I can't take mine back though as I got 2nd hand on ebay.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -

I'm glad to hear its not just me that thinks the design of this buggy is dreadful, maybe if anyone else has this buggy and thinks the same they could PM me to help me with my complaint??
Oh yeah, nearly forgot, Mothercare have phoned me and asked me to come and collect the buggy as they have checked it out and there is nothing wrong with it! I can't believe it!! Any idea what to do next??
Guess I should write them a letter but not sure what to say, is anyone any good at complaint letters? Official DFW Nerd 210
