Or is the plan to invite them in for a cuppa and then throw the water over them once it has boiled?
Alternatively, if she has answered the door and the guy has forced his way in, does she run into the kitchen, pop the kettle on, then run around the house in a Benny Hill stylee with the bloke chasing her until the water has boiled sufficiently to allow her to throw it over him?
Perhaps you should instead install a drawbridge and portcullis and keep boiling oil on standby? You could also board up your windows until there is just a slit in them to fire arrows. No, I'm just getting silly now aren't I?
Ahhh the last laugh is on you D'Dad - you are clearly not aware of the non-bailiff-person-at-door-water-systems available nowadays - the technology in this field has moved on leaps and bounds in recents years - the water is also filtered so it's scalding-fresh, observe-

(It's also very energy efficient - using the same amount of energy that a conventional kettle would consume, you could scald an additional 67% more faces)0
