    She's probably just putting the kettle on. If she lives in a heavy limescale area it can take ages for the element to boil the water...

    Ahhh the last laugh is on you D'Dad - you are clearly not aware of the non-bailiff-person-at-door-water-systems available nowadays - the technology in this field has moved on leaps and bounds in recents years - the water is also filtered so it's scalding-fresh, observe-

    (It's also very energy efficient - using the same amount of energy that a conventional kettle would consume, you could scald an additional 67% more faces)
