With a Claim Issue Date of 4th May, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 6th June 2023 to file your Defence.

That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Thanks very much -  I was going to enter my Defence on MCOL so that is good to know - what is the reason for this?  I will complete the form and send manually

The MCOL box simply isn't big enough so whatever you put in there will be truncated.
Also, it destroys all formatting so you would be presenting the Judge with some garbled text.
This is explained in the second post of the NEWBIES thread.

What do you mean by "send manually"? Please go back and read the second post in the Newbies/FAQ thread which tells you precisely how to send you defence. Yes, it says not to use the MCOL for sending but it also says how you should send it and I don't think the word "manually" is in there.

You aren't returning any forms nor attaching any forms.  This is fully explained in the NEWBIES and the TEMPLATE DEFENCE thread.

  • I have completed N180 form but can not find a valid email address to send it to.  Is it post only?

Please just go back to the Template Defence thread as I already advised.

I don't know why so many posters forget about the 12 point first steps list there once they've done the first six.

I don't know where else to put it.

latest update - this has now been transferred to the court for allocation.  I have had DCB contact me attempting to settle so I have politely declined and await further info from the court.

Latest update - I have a court date now so it looks like DCB are going to take it all the way.  Any advice appreciated.
