There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Flexible prices for January will be based on wholesale rates now. They're (mostly) horrific, as you can see from Agile users comments.

greenbee I've just had a look at this - I see that their export tariff wants to ensure that you only export self-generated energy and aren't importing at low prices and exporting at a higher price. Slightly different to the current approach at Octopus, where IOF seems to be designed to use customer batteries as distributed storage.
taffspeed's post suggested they didn't have an EV, so IOF woudn't be a fit for them… We mostly self-consume so export tariffs not of particular concern, but I see people on other forums exporting and importing with different suppliers…

IOF is Flux, so for solar/battery. I don’t have a compatible battery, but for those that do, it appears that allowing Octopus to control your import and (importantly) export, is very lucrative.
I’m self-consuming at this time of year… and with the current dull weather (today’s was not forecast) plus builders leaving doors open, also need some import. Based on the doors being open I’ve just turned the heating off again 😢. The builders weren’t supposed to be here this week, but naturally didn’t actually finish last week. I was looking forward to being warm for more than two days at a time!
