Wee shop done today for the week ahead. I still need to get final figures from OH but it will be less than the £40 that was budgeted for this week. I'll update later once I've spoken to OH. I am delighted that after being back on this thread for two months I am more on top of the grocery spending and from May I will be able to reduce my monthly budget to £200

Few spends over the weekend meaning I have now spent £149.28 / £250! I popped to the Coop after I finished work yesterday as the sun was shining so wanted salad for dinner - because I was tired and it was the weekend I also picked up some chocolate biscuits and a bottle of wine! This is definitely something I need to try and avoid!
DD is off school tomorrow and I am also having 2 of her friends for the day so will need something for lunch for them. Am going to meal plan for the week tomorrow based on what we have in so hopefully the budget is still doable!

thriftwizard said:that included a tray of kohlrabi plants for the allotment. Never grown it, or eaten it, before, so I thought it'd be worth testing before investing in a whole packet of seeds!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Eat Kohlrabi when they are small, @thriftwizard, my sister cooked the first ones BIL had grown, which were the size of swedes, and they were solid, and stayed hard even after hours in the slow cooker.
Jerusalem artichokes were a useful Winter crop on the allotment, one plant produced a bucket full. We never managed to dig them all out so every year the shooting ones got moved to make a new row.8 -
£19.62 spent at Aldi today. Couldnt find breadcrumbs but coated my fish cakes in a grated bread roll from the freezer and it worked just as well. Its been a dreadful month planning wise. Food bought for dietry requirements and then the guests didnt come because we had covid, us losing our apetites and not fancying anything that we had in, not being able to go shopping so needing an extra online shop. However I am taking heart in the fact that I still have a shelf in my freezer packed with gf/df/soya f food, I have also managed to cook up all of the leftover bits that were in the fridge to make 6 freezer meals. Still have a huge amount of potatoes even though I made shepherds pies today. Sausage and mash with onion chutney tomorrow. We are still craving strong flavours. Hoping next month will be much much cheaper!craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Hi everyone.
I plan to spend £60 for the next two weeks.
I'm adding what I didn't spend the last fortnight to it which is just over £15 after a £10 spend in Lidl.
I've lost track a little, but I'm hoping to work out what's what in the next couple of days. So hopefully will have a no spend for the next couple of days and be able to work out an updated amount for the next couple of ago very soon.
I've noticed that cost of salad is ridiculous. The cost of food is shocking plus just adds to the stress of the cost of everything.
I've never meal planned before, sounds interesting.
I'm having to eat healthily, to lose weight plus help improve my diet and finding it a shock at the prices.Decluttering campaign 2023

£150 budget, £86.97 spent, £63.03 left.
DH collected a TGTG from M&S at the service station, £5 got us food priced at £17.20.
The vegetables look good, I shall steam some to pad out the pasta meal which, with some extra mushrooms and kidney beans from the fridge, will make dinner for two.
There is a pudding each, with egg and milk for protein.
Scones for afternoon tea for two days. Scones are nice split and toasted.
Bread rolls for three lunches each, perhaps hard boiled eggs and butter with salad, bacon lettuce and tomato, or cheese for an Oslo meal with salad.
A batch of soup will make a meal of it, I have one leek, and the last of the celery in the fridge, a potatoes, a little onion, and some bouillon powder from the pantry, those broccoli stalks, and chives in the garden.8 -
Morning all, finally caught up with everyone after a bit of a hectic month! We’ve spent a lot more than usual this month. Don’t usually eat a lot of meat but had a leg of lamb over Easter and have had meat most days since. Also let the kids do some shopping for the second week of half term so that cost quite a bit. I’ve also fallen out of love with olio so having to buy bread again
Did some shopping yesterday so won’t be buying anything else until at least Sunday now so can use everything up.
Total so far £215.33/2507
