Yep - exhaust backboxes definitely have drain holes to let out the condensation that builds up inside. Not all manufacturers though...some poor advice on this forum deary me!

I'm glad you took it to halfords and as I've always said and on this thread as well they are not all bad and it is often down to the person dealing with your car
