Consumer Energy Solutions offering grant for heat pumps, etc: Opinions?

Hi all.
Has anyone heard of Consumer Energy Solutions? They are certainly keen to arrange a date to assess whether I can receive a grant to the tune of 20k for home insualation, heat pump, etc?

It would clearly be better if the council sent a letter first saying grants are available and this company will soon be in contact to start the surveys and install, The are far to many scammers out there that people are naturally worried its a scam.

That walesonline piece is just a (presumably) paid for advertising article. Companies House suggests it is nothing more than a call centre business, so are not involved in doing the work directly. On that basis, makes me wonder how they profit from helping people get insulation and heating solutions installed.

Beware, look at trust pilot at the 1 & 2 star reviews. They carried out my free solar, insulation and heating & I have had problems. They do not answer the phone, they do not call back, I have no heating and job remains unfinished. Beware

Don't do it!!!!

Enduring second freezing cold winter as a result of their botched ASHP / Solar install...still no heating fitted.  They also wrecked our roof by wrongly surveying it - wasn't able to adequately support the panels.  

Honestly, one of the worst experiences of my life.  

Please do extensive research and ensure all heat loss calculations are accurate / radiators and system correctly specified before committing to this.  And remember, nothing in life is free.  They are making a huge amount of money and your interests are not the same as theirs.  You are simply a means for them to take money from gov / energy cos.  They have zero care about the end result.

There are many companies like this that have sprung up off the back of the ECO4 scheme, and those preceding it. Some are merely referral agents who receive a referrers fee if the work goes ahead, whilst others will coordinate (to a greater or lesser extent) and subcontract out the work.

There are decent companies out there (we had a good experience on ECO4) but a lot of horror stories too. Research is key.

Best avoided, did you not see the BBC Wales report on them?
