    @RedFraggle

Is your DQ set to a pre set such as home all day/out all day.
or have you managed to edit days and temps.
I know I lowered from 21 to 7c for thurs-sun, though I'm going to risk some higher temps tomorrow.

I turned one on this week as it was cold and it took a night charge of about 17kwh so your worst case scenario is going to be about 17 times your kWh rate.
Tbh, I'll not bother again I'll use my electric fire and leave the quantum off til winter as I'll not use all that stored heat.
Mine are on a switched circuit and because they're so intelligent I haven't messed with the charge period.
When mine are on the are set at 21C "home all day" with the "day" set to 7am til 10pm
Officially in a clique of idiots

I had to put mine to 23 to get the boost to kick in the other day. Try a higher temp. They won't store if you're setting them at a temperature close to what the ambient is because the algorithm will calculate no heat is needed. If you want to check it charges tell it you want something like 24 the next day

If I set say 12 or 1 a.m until 17:00 or 23:30 is it going to cost a fortune?
I thought the idea was from 00:00 until 08:30 i.e. Eco 7 times.

You seem to be a bit confused about setting times.  If the Quantum has been wired correctly and it's supplied by both a 24h supply and a switched E7 supply then you don't need to worry about the charging times, the Quantum will look after that if programmed correctly.  The electrician should have done this but it's good to check.
You should program the times you want to be warm and the room temperatures you want to achieve.
Does the E7 outlet have the neon indicator, as previously suggested?
You're also s bit confused about the E7 times, they won't be 0000 - 0830 because that's eight and a half hours, not seven.

If dandytf is in Scotland he might have a White Meter tariff which is charged as E7 but gives 8.5 hrs?

That's correct, the clue was from yesterday's reply when I mentioned SP MPAN Area

Whilst Boost confirms Peak Rate 24/7 feed is working, does it need any overnight heat to help function when required.
Meanwhile I'm wfh office hours tomorrow, though maybe summer sunshine isn't best or possible to 'Feel' heat from DQ.
Is it wrong to expect NSH heat felt by hand on top, or is this not going to be similar via DQ.

    Until tomorrow thanks mser's

No, the boost function is independent of stored heat, although it can be set to kick in automatically.
It's the equivalent of plugging in a fan heater when an old-style box of bricks NSH gets too cool in the evening.
It probably won't feel warm to the touch (High Heat Retention and all that) but you'd need to ask users such as @EssexHebridean.
