There are towels with wipes in them now? Wow!

    Yep! Really. :)

I'm a mooncup girl but that would be waaay to hard for my daughter to do with one hand!

Each individual towel has an individual feminine wipe attached to it. Its actually really good for her as things can get a bit messy when you are trying to sort yourself out with one hand rolleyes.gifaction-smiley-033.gif

  • are you talking about those always freshelle wipes? i use those. but i just thought for a young girl there would be something a little smaller!

yes, thats what I was talking about - to be honest my daughter is fairly small for her age and those in the 'normal' size without wings are fine.

There is a teenage range in boots which I got her when she first started but there is not a huge difference between the sizes to be honest.

She just finds the wipes really handy :)

Just a word of warning- wipes and soaps designed for the more intimate areas are a big cause of thrush- id personally keep away from them. keep it simple down there....

  • Hi
My eldest started her periods in the last year of primary school, I was a bit shocked as she had not really 'developed'. However it did then dawn on me why she had been such a madem.

I had a chat with her and bought some always (withought wings) and some tampons. We unwrapped them and I explained how the towels worked and using my hans as a fist explained about the tampons. She was mortified by the tiny tampon and still refuses to use them (she's 15) she tells me "they won't fit in there". To be honest I hope she thinks that until she's 21.

I would stay awat from the wipes my girl started to use them and kept getting thrush. On a money saving note Tesco towels are just as good as Always. My daughter says the thing that helped her most was how open I was, telling her about my experiences. It's great fun in our house when we both get pmt.

  • Hi

My daughter has a twin brother and while I had all the chats with her as a single mum I suppose the lad did not get the same input. I did tell him all I thought was relevant.
When they had "the talk" in year 6, he said (before going) I think I know what they will say- you have alrready told me. I told him to listen anyway as there may be things I don't know or missed out.

Nothing more was said until a week later having sunday lunch at my parents with my grandparents and elderly aunt to boot. My son said, halfway through a lamb dinner "do you not know about wet dreams mum". Oh how we laughed:o or choked on the lamb.

I clearly did not feel as comfortable and should have got him a book.

Hobo - it only seems five minutes since our two little girls were running around with their my little ponies and now they are growing up fast. Don't know about you mate but it makes me feel OLD!!

Speak for yourself. I was asked for ID recently in the off license when I was trying to buy a bottle of wine! :)
  • My DD also started periods in the last year of primary. I had noticed her developing and had bought her supplies of both tampons and pads. When she started I gave her the mixed pack of tampons and explained how to use them. She also thought it was a bit gross. She now only seems to use the pads and her preferred brand is Always.
I was one of those who had the brick and the elastic and got hold of some tampax ASAP.
Be prepared for her to turn into the devil once a month !!!
Get on the freebies board and apply for all the samples as well as money saving it gives her the opportunity to find which sort suits her.
