Be glad your on gas.northernsoul said:5kWh per day ! Holy moly.
today i used 10kWh for the first hour !
raising the temperature from 14C to 16C with a target of 17.5C to achieve (which took 5 hours). Boiler set at 55C
So far, after 10 hours, used 37kwh (£3.78)
so 5kwh a day is incredible
That 37kWh would be over £8 @ my off peak electric rate.11% more than pre Jan - due to revised Ofgem multirate pricing - despiteall the headlines about epg remaining fixed so no major changes expected etc. Took weeks for charities to flag Mr 7% average price increase. And ive hit in the Dec cold snap - and close since0 -

I am not sure you mean attenuated, but, gas meters are supplied and fitted having been tested, the mechanism they use means that whilst they can under-report usage over time with wear on the mechanism it is almost impossible for them to over-report.sweetibiza100 said:Would a gas meter need to be attenuated?
This is not the case old diaphragm meters will very rarely be slow they are more likely to read fast when the diaphragms dry and shrink. Electronic meters faults can be fast/slow or even read on their own without passing gas.

Time to change supplier Scot? With Octopus even in the most expensive region (which you may be in, very possibly) it would come out under £8 - and it may well be that others are cheaper (it's just Octopus who's rate card I had handy!)Scot_39 said:

And remember - many of those of us on E7 and similar were paying less than the EPG October > January assuming we were at the correct split for our use, it was only the changes in January that crated parity between single rate and E7 on that front.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ok, so I've been a little MIA on this post and unsure of the figures EDF helpdesk were using. Since the energy price hike, my usage has been controlled as in wear jumpers and socks and so the heating hasn't been on all day, so I know things weren't quite right still. Having started the complaint my IHD ( yes going back to the IHD as it is correlated with the meter readings) has dropped to the level I expect. I also received an email from them apologising of some national issue. I have attached a snapshot of the difference and part of the email below:

We’ve identified that the problems you’re experiencing are linked to known issues across the industry and can’t be fixed with the tools currently available to suppliers. While I know this will be disappointing, we’re continuing to work with all the relevant parties to find a solution and will be in touch when we have an update to share.0 -
I agree - our average for January was 44kWh per day, February 52kWh and the current month, 48 kWh. Our lowest usage over the past 15 months was 6kWh per day, back in July.northernsoul said:5kWh per day ! Holy moly.
