Nice one! I think from my sort of extended friend/people I know group match was most common, but I think it's a few years earlier, say 2008-12 or so.

I was off and on PoF for 10 years, didn't get many dates, but last time I went on I was successful and have been in a happy relationship for a few months now.

Nothing beats meeting someone doing something you love.

If she is "fit" she obviously goes to the gym. It's full of men.

If she likes music she can go to concerts.

She can go out at the weekend. Strike up a conversation.

I personally wouldn't waste time online. She's clearly tried it and it hasn't worked for her.

I agree, however, she does find it difficult, and I think the proliferation of online dating sites and apps would suggest she's not the only one.

Quite interesting, she setup Bumble and I helped her answer some of the questions.. But she reached out to some guys, funnily enough looking very similar to the sort she's been messed around with before!

We will see if she likes any of the ones we do! Probably not!

I met my OH on OK Cupid. You can get incredibly detailed in your profile, or not, as you wish, and it seems like a fairly decent platform.

I’ve been in my relationship too long to have tried internet dating but several of my friends have had success on Bumble. One of them is getting married in a few weeks.

I tried Tinder for a week or two a few years ago. I'd rather just be alone. The thought of megalithic tech corporations quantitatively ordering people into a value hierarchy of intersecting interests and features makes me feel some type of way.

I feel like all the dating sites have tanked into a hellhole of algorithmic blackholes and fake profiles in the past couple of years but maybe that's just because i'm not on the hot list. I can't think of a single one that's worth paying for.

As a woman I'm sure you can get endless approaches from guys willing to give you a fun time but I don't know how you would go about finding someone genuine. I suspect anyone serious and genuine would get downvoted by the algorithm.

As much as it's trite I do kinda feel like if you're reasonably attractive, neurotypical and socially adept then going out there and meeting people and playing the numbers is the way to go.
