Bank sends new card to old address

It was actually changed on my bank account under addresses correctly. This old address was only on the PDF statements accessed on the website (not on the app unfortunately). Assuming that updating your address on one account will update on all accounts is naïve at best.
I also don't really understand how they can change your bank accounts address but not your debit card address. The debit card address will be your current account?
I assume you mean they changed the address on your mortgage but not your current account. I don't think that is surpising as not everyone who buys a mortgage would actually move into that house so I can see why you would have to update your bank account address separately.
last time I saw a PDF statement was probably about 6 years ago when getting my first mortgage. I only noticed it was wrong when I went to the app settings for lost card and it asked me to confirm the old address. Its a strange one for sure. One I would have avoided if I did actually backup the odd (official) statement now and again. Something I need to build a habit of anyway.

The OP states their current account's address was updated but there is a legacy address associated with the debit card for the same account... I know when I've updated my address in the past there was no need to update the debit card independently to the account.goater78 said:It is not a data protection breach to send a debit card to a previous customers address because the customer has not updated their address. Having only heard one side of the story in principle it seems like a mistake by the bank, either human error or a flaw in the system (or mix of both).
I am fairly sure the random recipient would have worked out how to get inside the envelope if they wanted.sevenhills said:
