Maybe neighbour is now thinking in terms of storage fee's
Given the weather & possible size of item. It could well be sat outside getting very soggy due to the delay in picking up.Life in the slow lane0 -

(Well - they can charge - but the OP has no contractual obligation to pay them).Jenni x3 -
If I get left a delivery for a neighbour I drop it round to then rather than waiting for them to knock for it. Perhaps your neighbour will do that? It doesn’t make any difference how you paid or whether it was a prime seller or not. Our think you’re being a bit petty suggesting it gets collected a re-delivered.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090

For the future, perhaps a label for your doorbell 'Please do not leave parcels with neighbours'?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

“I’m very English really. I even ordered a book on the internet: ‘How to Have Absolutely Nothing to Do with Your Neighbours’. Unfortunately, I was out when it was delivered.”
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".6 -
I'm not reading 5 pages and would be surprised if this hasn't been mentioned a dozen times but
SEND SOMEONE ELSE TO PICK IT UP1 -
Presumably, the OP has a card from Evri/Hermes saying it was left with a neighbour? So it would be dishonest to say there was no delivery.
Make one attempt to ask the neighbour for the item. If the neighbour denies having it or there is no response then go straight back to the seller with this and claim non-delivery, being prepared to remind them that the courier's failure to deliver to the addressee is the seller's issue to resolve.
That attempt could of course be standing near their door and whispering... then you can honestly say you have contacted the neighbour and got no responseI need to think of something new here...0 -
If past threads are still relevant then the neighbour is in the flat below the OP.1
