Delivery left with neighbour I HATE!
Comments

Hermes, Now Evri have a APP & you can say where to leave deliveries & preferred neighbours.Life in the slow lane2

Hermes have done the job of delivering the parcel and no doubt in the small print of hermes website it say's "we will deliver to neighbour etc etc"
So unless the OP wants to lose money a polite knock on the door may be the only option, but surely the neighbour can't be that bad as he/she took the parcel in

But the OP didn't agree to any small print on Hermes' web site. The seller did.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.3 -

I order quite regularly from Amazon and the deliveries are always left in my porch.
However I ordered an exercise bike and this was delivered by Hermes (Always have an issue with Hermes) who left with a neighbour who I despise. I Really really REALLY do not want to knock on his door to pick up my package.
I am a Prime member but this was not a Prime seller, it was dispatched by the seller. I paid with my Credit Card.
Can I request the seller to get Hermes to pick it back up and drop it off ay MY address ?
I had a case where the helpful police left my car keys (long story) with a neighbour I had just had an argument with.
I collected the keys without much interchange and never spoke to them again because I moved.
You can't get on with everyone but neither can they keep your stuff.
In the future use your local collection point. I find it works better.4 -
It's not a consumer rights answer but best bet would be to have a neutral third party go pick up the item on your behalf.

A very sensible suggestion to conclude matters quickly with the least amount of fuss.

Jimmy_Boy said:No theres a long history. End of the day, i'll let him keep it rather than knock on his door!
Are you sure you have not made a mistake about hating them as they clearly like you by accepting the large parcel as that takes some doing?
IMO, they will knock on your door soon as its a large thing and they may thik the chap forgot to leave a card telling you or you have not seen it and want the big theing removed
However, and its been mentioned, when i read your intial post i felt he was doing it to wind you up - be the bigger man go over say hi, say thanks and look very happy - trsut me that will make his day, lol. Dont show him you are wound up is the key imo
Your choice
Good luck
