Hi All
Been 5 weeks since I submitted defence. Must I just sit tight waiting for the DQ N180, is 5 weeks nothing to be concerned about?
Thanks

The CCBC sent you a letter, or will send you a letter, saying the Claimant has twenty eight days to consider your Defence.
What you don't know is when the CCBC sent a copy of your Defence to the Claimant. It follows from that that it is not known when the Claimant has to respond to the CCBC.
Further, we don't know what delays there are in the CCBC that means they don't send you a Directions Questionnaire as promptly as you might like.
And this recent thread indicates that longer delays are likely... CCBC are currently 26 days behind with DQs
Can I suggest that you keep checking your MCOL Claim History and as soon as you see that the CCBC has sent a DQ to you, you are ready to download a DQ, complete it and fire it back at the CCBC, remembering to send a copy to the Claimant of course?5 -
Hi All
Finally received the N180. I am completing it as advised on forum.
Regarding the "Suitability for determination without a hearing" question, I have indicated NO and the below is my reason:
I wish to question the Claimant about their evidence at a hearing in person, and to expose omissions and any misleading or incorrect evidence or assertions. As the Claimant is a firm that deals with these kind of cases on a daily basis, I believe not having a hearing would put the Claimant at an unfair advantage, and put me at a disadvantage to defend against the claim.
Look good?
Thanks

Update expected any day now, in July. Don't miss it - we will be talking about it here!
We need everyone here in August taking part! Your response & evidence is your chance to help change the law for 2024.
Also, I hope there will be useful words from the Govt that people like you will want to make sure you are on top of and that might be worth saying to Judges.

Hi All
Finally after getting some printer ink, I completed the n180, printed it, signed it, and scanned it.
To confirm, I must email it to

ThanksPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I emailed the signed N180 to both CCBC and DCBLegal on 3rd August, I did receive acknowledgement from CCBC almost immediately. Just for info, the deadline for submission of N180 was 8th August.
Its now the 9th August, not seeing anything on MoneyClaims website. Should I be concerned, is it too soon to follow up?

You Claim History states "DQ sent to you on 21/07/2023".
Doesn't the letter that accompanied it say you have twenty-eight days to complete and return your Directions Questionnaire?
So firstly, you are nowhere near the deadline for returning it.
Secondly, the CCBC are about two months behind with their processing of DQs.
And thirdly, if the CCBC do mislay your completed DQ, they will write again giving you another seven days to comply.
In summary - nothing to worry about.2
