My wife's contract was up for renewal and I told her to find the phone she wanted on OSPS and to ring O2 and tell them to match it or give her her PAC , she ended up being offered a free 6230i on O2 100 with half price rental(now 12.50) and double texts and mins(200 of each) for the full 12 months so all in cost of £150.We are happy with that because she doesn't quite use 200 of either.I am not young enough to know everything.

well, as far as i am aware O2 is pushing so hard to get the market share. examples: they have as banners on loads of websites, sponsers the radio traffic reports, O2 music sponser Live8 and the wireless festival, and varies other sports event!
there is a new thing called O2 Blue Room they have launched on their website that rewards their customer by giving prizes to O2 customer in the form of competition! there are some wireless festival VIP tickets up for grab as well!0 -

where did she ring because ive been ringing o2 online and our local shop and they keep telling me they havent got the 6230i in stock yet, would be nice to be able to get one.0 -
Thanks to all of you who have offered advice
I have ended up going for the 750 anytime/anynetwork mins and 100 texts for £17.50
However I have decided to hold out for the 6230i. I've been advised that it should be available from next Monday so I'm ringing them back then to upgrade.
I'm also confused as to who your wife spoke to peppered to be offered the 6230i already. I have even rang up my local O2 store and they don't even have it in stock yet.0 -
the 6230i is available in this months carphone warehouse magHOW MUCH ?0

My wife was told the 6230i was available yesterday (20th) so she rang up and was told it will be another week.
The contract offer still holds ,she just has to wait for the phone to come available.I am not young enough to know everything.

Thanks for the clarification Peppered. That ties in with what O2 told me.
I do however have a feeling that when we ring up next week the 6230i still isn't going to be available. The woman I talked to on the phone from o2 told me I could always try and get it direct from one of the o2 shops on the high street as she said the stores always get new models "a week or two before the call centres get them"
But when I rang my nearest o2 store I was told that they also don't have the 6230i in yet. They are expecting them this Thursday but she said that date has already been pushed back once and she can't say with any degree of certainty that they'll be available on Thusday.
Come on o2, sort it out!!0 -
Anyone else manage to get a good deal from O2? I am at the end of my contract and thinking what deal I should aim for; at the moment I am on Off-Peak 1000 mins to O2 & landlines for £20 pm.
Ideally I would want to stay on this tariff if it meant that I would get the best deal/price rather than going for the 750 anytime mins as I make most of my calls offpeak and don't do many cross net calls. Has anyone managed to get a deal below £10 pm on this tariff (with phone)? I was thinking of asking if they could match the free line rental for 12 months & Nokia 3120 that is available on orange....??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0 -
haha... bang on. just posted this thread yesterday on Rpoints, seems like will be some kind of use for your there then!
Thread in Rpoints, should be the third post from me again!1: Get a free phone (might not be the best one but it will be free)
2: Get a really nice deal £30/month 400 mins anytime anynetwork + 1000 Text with 1 MB free web browsing.
hope that will help you out in a way!0 -
sorry i have missed your point, actually you don't even take the step 2, just step one will sort you out as they are cross net minutes0
