Hi there

My o2 12 month contract has recently finished (I am on the leisure time plus 1000 landline off peak, 25 cross-net off peak and 100 texts).

I rang o2 up to cancel the other day and they started bombarding me with all kinds of deals in order to keep me. I was happy(ish) with the tarriff I'm on but realised it was financially beneficial for me to begin a new identical contract (through dialaphone) as I would get 12 months half price line rental plus more cashback through recommend a friend/the works etc. The only downside was I'd have to change my number.

Well now o2 have offered me the following......

750 anytime/any network mins per month BUT does not include calls to voicemail.
100 texts
upgrade to nokia 6230 (I asked about the 6230i but they said they wouldn't be getting that model in for a few weeks)

Line rental £17.50

So those of you on here who know the ins and outs of mobile price plans can I ask what you think of the above deal? I'm not a big spender on my current contract (my bills are usually between £20 and £30 per month and I usually go over 100 texts)

The person from the o2 retentions dept is ringing me back on Friday as I asked for time to think about it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Mal

that is an excellent deal if it is truly anytime cross network - take his hand off - theres nothing, even on three, that can come anywhere even close to that

That is a VERY GOOD deal.Just say to them if they can make it 200-250 messages a month included (even if they add £2.50 to the monthly rent it's well worth it)you will take it there and then.

(p.s.) The Nokia 6230i should be with them on Monday 20th June so i'm told or Monday the 27th June at the latest and if you can hold on and get one of these phones included in the deal it will be an even better one and well worth the weeks wait.Or you could even say yes, use the 6230 for a week then send it back saying you dont like it much while your waiting for the 6230i.(You have 14 days to return the phone)Just say when your making the deal that if you try the 6230 and don't like it can you return it and have the 6230i.Make sure you get the name of the person talking to you on the phone and make a note of it and their extension number etc :)

I have just been offered that deal but with only 50 texts and they want £20.00 a month  with a free Sammy D500. I will be back on the phone tomorrow. Has anyone been offered 1000 mins x-net offpeak for £20.00 as I am a lorry driver I don't realy use the phone of a day, even though its is a good deal, the 250 mins I won't be getting, if I do use them it will cost me another £25.00 a month  .

I renewed my deal with o2 a few months ago and I have 500 X networks mins and 100 texts for ......£7.50 I was very plesed with this as you can imagine.

Somthing worth knowing however is that when your new contract is redone, they keep any bolt ons you may have had on your old contract. I had a text bundle and was charged for 3 months before I noticed. They told me you have to phone up to have any bolt ons removed.

My friend alos phoned up last week and got the same contract as me but for £10 and he didnt even quote them a deal, just told them my phone number and said he wanted the same.

    Hello M8,
02's number is 08009777027 "business line" but when you get through just say sorry I have rang the wrong number and can you put me through to upgrades etc.
I went from 1000 mins offpeak £20.00 a month to 750 anytime any network £15.00 a month. Even though you are on pay and go it's worth a free phone call good luck.

My mate just tried the same as me and they wanted £40.00 for the phone and £25.00 for the headset also wanted £20.00 for the contract.
It just goes to show, it all depend's on whoever you get through to on the phone.
