Why not watch it the next day when it is not live? There are 500 videos there and you want to watch the single one that will cost you £150 a year? I cannot make any sense of this.
Because the whole point is watching it live and my husband would be watching it a week later as he can only watch Sundays show as he’s working all other days.

Anyway we are going off topic so I will leave it now to focus on your original Samsung post.

If the whole point of watching was watching it live there would not be 500 pre recorded videos but each to there own.
Someone has to fund the BBC i guess but it will never be me.

🤣🤣 he just saves all his own videos so anyone can watch at a later date that’s why there are 500 saved from his lives, I do you tube lives but they are also saved so people can go back and watch them another time like most people do 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway have a great weekend and now back to Samsung

you can watvh me In fact i can not find ANY live content at all, under the live content tab the latest thing is 2 days old.
You won’t find anything live until he goes live ? We only watch it live, for example tomorrow an app alert will say he’s going live so that’s when we watch it and I was told by the licence people that as it’s a live broadcast a licence is required
you can watch me live on youtube jumping up and down in my garden or filming trains go by but you won't require a TV licence as I would not be on broadcast TV

you do not require a TV licence to watch BJTV - live or not. It is not a broadcast channel. Ask over at the TV board on here.

Unfortunately, TV Licensing have successfully managed to sow the seeds of doubt about streaming services in the Public consciousness.   I'm sure it is entirely deliberate.

As above, you only need a TV Licence to watch content when it is being streamed live in parallel to a Broadcast TV channel.   In UK & Youtube terms, that's basically GB News, Talk TV and Sky News at the moment (though that may not be a definitive list going forward).

I'm not a sport fan, so I don't entirely understand the public thinking about having a TV Licence for non-broadcast live content, but I do know that there is more and more such content.  TV Licensing are disingenuous in their explanation (which revolves around whether the content is qualitatively similar to broadcast), whereas the law incorporates a specific term ("television programme service") that is what requires a TV Licence.

Are TVL customer service also on commission to sell licences? The only YouTube content that requires a licence is that that's broadcast "live as shown" on a TV station in any country as well as YouTube.

The Women's super league need a TV licence but the women's championship I would say a licence isn't required as the games from that division are not "live as shown" on any TV station, they are streamed on the FA Player.
Someone please tell me what money is

Live is a misleading word - what it means in this context is 'shown on youtube at the same time as broadcast TV anywhere in the world'

So if Outer Mongolia TV are showing a TV program in their country and it is streamed at the same time on youtube then you need a licence

If the youtube stream you are watching is not being broadcast on TV at the same time anywhere then you don't.

YouTube video with Black Best Barrister where he asked the BBC to comment on a number of scenarios and in one of their replies they suggested the difference between a live stream by a TV Service vs a Content creator
