Had my Samsung 55" TV for 5 years or so and no problems but in the last few days the Samsung TV plus app has taken over to the extent that it wont let me watch other stuff for long.
If i am watching Youtube or downloaded videos off a USB stick which is all i use the TV for, it will exit those things and start Samsung TV plus and some program i don't want on.
I have uninstalled the app many times and it just re-installs itself and once it starts you cant exit it you have to go to the home button and restart what you were doing.
Any one else having this trouble?

Also i haven't had a TV licence for over 5 years and don't watch any live broadcast programming.
You need a tv licence for YouTube.

The law says you need to be covered by a TV Licence to:

    • watch or record TV on any channel - via any TV service (e.g. Sky, Virgin, BT, Freeview, Freesat)
    • watch TV live on any streaming service (e.g. ITVX, All 4, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Now TV, Sky Go)
    • watch BBC iPlayer*.

You don’t watch live tv on you tube? Ah get it. My hubby always watches big jet tv on you tube so we’re liable sadly

No licence required for youtube, unless of course you watch 'live TV' on it.

is big jet TV a broadcast channel or is it only a youtube-only channel?

if the latter you don't need a licence

You need a licence to watch broadcast TV live on youtube. So, for example, if the BBC was available live on youtube you would need a licence to watch it. Since BJTV is not even a broadcast channel, you don't need a licence.

Just had a look at Big jet TV and it seems you can view 99.999% of the content without breaking any TV licence rules.
Most if not all of the so called live content is not live at all, it seems to be all pre recorded.

You won’t find anything live until he goes live ? We only watch it live, for example tomorrow an app alert will say he’s going live so that’s when we watch it and I was told by the licence people that as it’s a live broadcast a licence is required

Why not watch it the next day when it is not live? There are 500 videos there and you want to watch the single one that will cost you £150 a year? I cannot make any sense of this.
