Update, had my neighbour who does small soldering to look, the hallmark is EAJ 375 followed by a cat/panther symbol, and the letter ‘I’
is there a way to check the price of this online?
Cat/panther could be a leopard which is the assay mark for London. The letter (not sure if you mean i for India or l for Lima but that will be the year mark. You will need to check that. Google it.
You need to look at the style of the letter e.g. italics, upper/lower case.
But as Soolin says, if you just want to sell it, you'll get scrap 9 carat prices. The place I go to gives higher prices than anywhere else I've seen either in jewellers or online and are currently offering £17.92 per gram of 9 carat gold. Your 10 gram will be minus the weight of the stone which may or may not be a genuine sapphire. Even if it is genuine, it may not be a good quality stone and not worth much.
Looking at the link in Soolin's post, your ring may have a date on it.

So as Pollycat says in their excellent post scrap value on this isn't going to be massive, so it may be worth just seeing if anyone is interested in it as a ring. I suspect though that the market is quite limited especially since it has a date (the latter one probably refers to graduation, the earlier one when college founded)

Yes maybe worth putting it on an auction? Could be worth sentimental value to someone who went there in 2007.

I'd start it at a reasonable price as well rather than risk it going too cheap - it might not sell at the first attempt but if you use the FVF offer days you can just keep putting it up until someone bites.
Remember to set the correct postage method for precious metals - I would suggest special delivery.

You could contact that college to see if they are interested in the ring.
They might allow you to advertise it for sale on a college noticeboard or in a newsletter etc.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

Is that the cat/panther?
Actually, I don't think they use 'i' as it can get confused with 'l'.
This link shows you the year marks.

Any indian goldsmith shops near you, they should be able to help and often value at no cost but ask beforehand.
Good luck
