Potential price/advice on where to sell gold

Hi, I recently had a item of jewellery gifted/inherited to myself.

im unsure if it’s worth much or where to sell it exactly.

I have tried my best to get hallmarkings read, and it says (from my eye) :
EAJ 375 * * cannot work out the end markings.

it is 10g in weight with a blue sapphire stone.

375 means 9 carat gold but I’m not sure what the EAJ relates to it could be a maker.

  • Take it to a proper jeweller ( not one of the national chains ) and ask them what it's value is.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

    Any recommendations?

Do you mean a sole trader?
  • Yes normally a sole trader who has been in your town for many years.

Well here it is new to order , but as I said above all this info is easily found with a google lens search - but check the link below as there are 2 distinct sizes and the value varies a lot.

Imperial medium, Gold | University of Oxford Graduation Ring (annotatedstudios.com)

Yes have checked this, the company actually went out of business in 2019, the current ring is o7, and has a different hallmarking compared to the ones on the site, it is an oversized one, so potentially worth a tad more than I expect.

google lens isn’t a thing on App Store for some reason, but have loaded it onto Google it’s self , with no returns at all.

Update, had my neighbour who does small soldering to look, the hallmark is
EAJ 375 followed by a cat/panther symbol, and the letter ‘I’

is there a way to check the price of this online?

Cat/panther could be a leopard which is the assay mark for London.
The letter (not sure if you mean i for India or l for Lima but that will be the year mark.
You will need to check that.
    Google it.

If you google for gold hallmarks you should find several sites that will help you identify what you have. Realistically though most dealers will offer scrap value and melt the ring, unless they can find someone who wants that particular ring.
