Ive renamed my Starling Savings Pot to Mortgage Overpayment Pot where I will save up any overpayments until at such a level I can make a bulk payment. That pot wasnt really for anything and made sense to use for that purpose.

We too had a savings pot entitled "mortgage overpayment Pot" Shell - and we now have the same account but renamed as "The Account Formerly Known As…"(The Mortgage OP Pot, naturally!) it still gets a chunk of money monthly - at the moment that is being transferred across to the new house pot each month. Almost looking forward to changing it back to the OP pot again in a few months time (hopefully!) and having that challenge to get my teeth into again!

I agree it just makes sense to use this now as my next debt to tackle even if its little bits.  Im feeling a little uneasy as our Mortgage deal is set to expire either June or July (I should know this!!) and Im worried about what the interest rate will be.  We have been with V Money for our mortgage the last 10 years as they had the best rate at the time, we should be meeting with our financial advisor soon to discuss whats about.  Really tempted to just fix for 12 months and hope the rates come down by next year.

Weekly Cash envelope reset day tomorrow, went to local shop for a few bits this morning and nothing more needed so have emptied early.  We have done really well this week and have £41.88 left from grocery and £20 left from Fuel so total £61.88.  I have split this several ways:
    • £1.88 to Penny Challenge
    • £5 to Monthly Saving Challenge
    • £45 to Holidays
    • £10 to Christmas
So pleased I moved to weekly cash budgeting on several spends!

    Thats about all for now

    Morning

Not alot happening today, its the 1st anniversary of my dad passing tomorrow so will be super hard (in all honestly hard today too as I remember exactly what I was doing.  We are off as a family tomorrow to the hospice where Dad was to make a family contribution (cash), plus they have a lovely book they write in when a resident passes, and then turn the page every day.  That will be hard too.   :(  We are thinking of having a leaf added to a Tree they have in reception engraved with Dads name so we can visit and reflect at any time.  The Hospice is just round the corner from where mum is now.

A very small Save the change today and sent £1.41 in total, split the £1 out towards the mortgage overpayment pot and the change to the SPC, as they say every little bit helps!  Prolific very slow at the minute, Nearly £3 cleared with just over £5 pending.  As soon as cleared will send to Mortgage overpayment pot.

Have a great day, and enjoy the extended weekend!

Gentle hugs for you today and tomorrow, its never easy so be kind to yourself and allow the emotions to come through if needed. Adding a leaf to the remembrance tree soundslike a lovely idea.
