Thanks KK, Sheilavw & Suze
I’ve had a sudden pain in my leg and the doctor thinks it’s a dvt so I’m now on blood thinners until I can have a scan next week 🙄 There are no urgent appointments before then! The upside is that now I’m on blood thinners I can take the dvt stockings off 🥳 so I cut them off when I got home. 🤣 My lovely friend took me to the gp & is taking me to the hospital this week (dressings) and next week (scan of leg) so I took us both out for a pub lunch £24 & friend bought us drinks (half a cola max each).
Still able to potter about, a few short walks a day and doing my week 2 stretches. Feels longer than 2 weeks ago 🤯 😉

Blimey, Sya, it just keeps coming , you sound as though you are keeping up your spirits, hope your scan goes well and yay to the evil stocking, hope they're in the bin😁

Thanks Tresinia, yes they were absolutely binned! 🤣 although I do still have the spare pair my sister washed for me, not sure why I’m hanging on to them 🤔
Blood thinners make me feel a bit woozy so I am being extra careful but still managing 3 little walks a day. Feels better now the stockings are off. Hospital today just for dressings, getting a lift from my friend. I will treat us to coffee and cake afterwards 😋

Thanks Suze. 😊 I paid for cakes £6.30. 😋My friend insisted on paying for cups of tea. Parking was £5.50. Before the op & potential dvt I was parking further away for free & no restrictions but I wasn’t able to manage that walk today as it was uphill and very hot 🥵
After my appointment we called off at little sainsbugs on the way home. £40.67 😳 My friend pushed the trolley round for me, bagged up shopping & loaded into her car. Then she brought me home & unpacked it for me bless her! 🥰
Items bought
Strawberries, watercress & rocket, sliced ham & sliced beef, chilled ready meals (chicken tikka masala, cottage pie, lasagne, chicken chow mein on offer 2 for £6.50), cottage cheese, 2 pints milk, nuts, packet biscuits (oops they snuck in 🤦♀️) eggs, coleslaw & pulled pork.
Together with the items I still have and cooked meals already in the freezer I should have enough for a week

Sorry about the potential DVT but great to have the stockings off!

Thanks jwil. Feeling a bit fed up tonight. Body is adjusting to dressing removal so I’m sore. I’m sure it will settle in a few days 🤞
I’m tempted to order chocolate (and other items) online for delivery I’ve put items in the online basket £21.49 🤦♀️ but haven’t checked out. Instead I’ve got a can of p max from my fridge, had a few strawberries and I have to eat again at 10pm to take my blood thinner tablet. So I’m trying not to complete the order!

thanks sheila I’m ok. I’ve just been for a gentle stroll in the pleasant evening (not scorching) sunshine. Still aching today but not as much as yesterday. Was nice to walk alongside the fields of horses with birds flitting about 😊
I did order the basket of groceries for delivery today as the delivery fee was reduced to zero 😌 I must admit I bought a tiramisu dessert so was a bit naughty (but nice 😋) but did adjust it to remove all the chocolate 😇 Total cost £21.20 including bag of mixed nuts (unsalted pecan, cashew, almonds & peanuts), peach squash, no added sugar bread, bacon, chicken pizza, southern fried chicken breasts.
My bc nurse said I should be able to drive if I can make an emergency stop. Maybe I will try after my ultrasound scan on my leg next week, hoping for the all clear on the dvt 🤞
