You are not under a timeline really, and obviously you can wait 30 days then tell the solicitor you are seeking debt advice and that gets you another 30 days.

Please be ROBUST (almost rude, certainly pushy) with the way you reply to the retail park agents.

No 'please', not 'Hi' and not 'kind regards'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    As said above ^^^

The Letter before Claim from the DCBL claim "debt recovery costs" of £70
This is just wishful thinking by DCBL as there is NO legal authority for this.
It stems from the unfit BPA and one of their money scammer members called ZZPS, KNOWN AS THE OSNER SCAM.... OSNER is the boss of ZZPS and a board member of the BPA .... SPOT THE SCAM

Many have asked DCBL about the fake add on but sadly DCBL CANNOT ANSWER, SO ASK THEM.     If this goes to court they will have to reply to a Judge

But when DCBL do a timewasting ROBO CLAIM and you get a court claim, "debt recovery" turns into "Damages"
Don't think that DCBL are in the magic circle

    CANT'T PAY WE'LL TAKE IT AWAY ?
Featured on a popular TV show

THE SILLY LOGO AT THE BOTTOM OF THEIR LETTERHEAD

Designed to scare you. Doubt any TV show would ever open the doors again to DCBL

CHANNEL 5 WERE SUED OVER DCBL

Their own bailiffs sue them as they are owed £200,000
TV bailiffs from hit show Can’t Pay? We’ll Take It Away sue ex-bosses for £200,000 over ‘underpayment’
    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/17710641/bailiffs-cant-pay-well-take-away-sue-ex-bosses/

Rest assured it is no longer a hit show, "snow white and the dwarfs" would be more suitable.

Shame on DCBL. THEIR MARKETING methods belong in the last century
No wonder they chicken out and discontinue.

BUT, today DCBL went to court and THE result ... DCBL WERE SPANKED AGAIN

    Update on this.

Ive received a Letter of Claim form Shakespeare Martineau for the PCN.

I never did receive a response from UK Parking Administration Ltd about the original letter arriving after the reduced payment deadline.

Do I need to action anything at this stage?

It depends on how quickly you want this to reach a conclusion. If you want more time, and it may be worthwhile as there is an imminent announcement expected from the DLUHC this month, send them a 30-day debt advice holding delay, as per PAP, on the 16th of August.

You can also respond robustly to the LoC and demand that they provide all evidence they intend to rely on in any court claim as you intend to defend any claim fully.

It is all documented in the Newbies/FAQ thread, second post.

This won't result in a court claim.

Despite threats, I've never seen a ShakespeareMartineau LoC develop into a claim. 'Oh what a tangled web we weave ........ '
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

There are grave errors in the letter of claim from Shakespear

1: They claim the principal debt is £170. No it's not it's £100. £70 of this relates to the famous BPA/OSNER scam which has no authority in law.
They seem to wrongly think that the PCN is a contract when it's only an invoice and issued after the event.
Only the signs in the car park can purport to be a contract and that depends if they are readable

2: It seems they have added interest to the fake £70.  Do they not understand that the £70 is a fake. The courts do not like fakery

3: Will they try court and sign a statement of truth which will not be true
As already said ... they won't .... let us know if they do

    Thanks for the reassurance.

Given all of this, do I continue the steps laid on in the newbies thread and advice from @B789 and send a 30 day debt advice email?

Or do I continue to ignore?

    Cheers
