Wow, finally I’ve got to your latest post, from starting at page 1 a couple of weeks ago and reading every single page, usually whilst I’m eating my dinner of an evening.

Hello 👋 long-time lurker here who rarely comments or reads a whole diary from start to finish, but yours, I’ve been glued.

i think you have been on a remarkable roller-coaster journey through life and I for one am incredibly impressed at your resilience and determination. What an amazing woman and mother you are. You’re doing so well with absolutely everything and I’m glad this page I'm finally on isn’t the end of your story. I look forward to reading more.

Keep your chin up, this is a rubbish time of the year, miserable weather, the magic of Christmas packed away for another year and far too much month for the money.

Sending supportive hugs. I’m dreading the coming storm, it’s heading right where we are, hope my animals aren’t too terrified and I can keep all my family and home safe. Stay safe and keep going, you WILL achieve your dreams 💖

Hello WinterWeather and well done on making it to the end of the diary, I'm in awe of you for reading the entirety of my waffle!
Thank you for your kindness, I feel very much anything but amazing - I'm mostly not sure how I'm still making it through some days, but I do so appreciate your kind comments.  <3

I hope the worst of the storm has missed you and your animals aren't too frightened. I went to bed frightened for what the night would bring last night and woke up thinking of those who had fared much worse than us. It is wild here but we seem to have missed the worst of it so am feeling very fortunate.  Much love to you and yours x

It's payday! Woohoo! I almost felt like doing a little payday dance this morning but was too sore from the gym last night to move very much.
Money's been shuffled to the Car/House pot (which I'm making my new EF as well as for car maintenance and car/house insurance etc), the Birthdays/Christmas pot, School Uniform/DS Clothes pot and £350 has gone to the new ISA which I've now named the Mortgage Neutral Pot. :). The ISA transfer from the old provider is now complete and the money's reached the account so it's looking healthier. There is also £660 transferred from PB's in there too, £360 of that is DS's school trip spending money and £370 is the total I've saved towards the school holidays/days out etc. I was saving £100 a month towards this but I've had to lower it to £70 as I realised I'd overstretched the budget. I've also left £25 in the Premium Bonds account just to keep it open, but I'm not counting this and will just leave it there. The balance in the ISA is actually higher than the amount listed in my signature due to the various bits mentioned above but I'm keeping the different funds separate on paper (well, YNAB) so that I know what money is for what. If you've understood any of that, you deserve a gold star!  :s

We too have been lucky & not got the worst of the winds.  I went out this morning & was amazed at the number of local people who have left things out in their gardens & are blowing all over.  That's the things not the gardens.

Did we actually have a weekend? How is it Monday already?
I'm so tired today and cold, despite having 3 layers on, that I just want to go back to bed and curl up under my duvet. No such luck though.

Despite not feeling like I've had a weekend I certainly managed to spend a lot more money than I anticipated. :(
I had to fill the car up which cost £60, and we ate out with friends Friday night which cost £24 - I paid as OH paid last time.
DS's phone got damaged so I've taken that to a local place for (hopeful) repair and withdrawn the £30 cash for that. If it can't be repaired, it'll have to be a new phone.  :s  The guy initially told us to come back in an hour so we had to hang around the local the town centre for an hour which is a bit rough and run down, so I ended up buying DS and I some lunch out in a 'spoons as there really wasn't anywhere else to go. That was another £16.66 spent and, annoyingly, when we went back to the shop the guy hadn't had chance to look at it and said to come back Monday instead. DS was fed up not having his phone or being able to chat to his friends so I took him out to the cinema later in the day which cost £14 for us both. I made sure I went to the cinema with free parking though rather than pay £5 ish to park by a different one. I picked up some grocery shopping on Friday which cost just over £20 and another £4.50 spent this morning on a top up shop whilst picking up a parcel from Mr S.
OH and I went out to pick up a Toogoodtoogo bag yesterday which cost me £6.75 (but was well worth it). We were quite fed up yesterday and felt really down and just didn't want to sit in the house, so went out for a coffee (me) and pint (OH) in a local pub. It was nice to get out and just chat.  We drove to a charity shop to drop the two bags off but they weren't taking donations so the bags remain in the boot for now. I had a look in there for some tops for myself but everything looked really worn and in bad condition so I didn't buy anything, but did find a lovely jumper dress, two tops and another snuggly jumper in a different charity shop at a cost of £13 which all fit me lovely. I was really pleased to pick up a few more much-needed items of clothing. OH bought two books for his Dad at 50p each and both he and his Dad were pleased with those.
Lastly, we booked a weekend away with friends in a few months time. We always planned to do something but weren't decided on what or where, but found two nights away in a place we'd all like to visit for £142.20 per couple, so I sent OH my half of that. £35ish a night is a pretty good deal and it's given us something to look forward to. Friends will be driving us in their EV so we will pay for parking which will be around £25.

Now I need to rein in the purse strings and not spend any unnecessary money for a good week or so and pray that DS's phone is an easy fix for £30. I also need to work on cheering myself up a bit as I'm really struggling today and am feeling very low and unmotivated with everything. The tiredness is a major factor in that so I need to try and get an early night tonight and coax DS into doing the same.

Forgot to mention, I made £9.99 on an ebay item which is now wrapped and ready to post. There's no way I'm walking to the post office in today's wild weather though so it can wait until tomorrow. I also have another outfit to list on vinted which I will get listed today. There has been some interest in the high value item on there too but still not sold yet. Fingers crossed for a sale this week as that will make me around £100 and clear a large bulky item out of the way.

Just sold the vinted item for £100 :) Now to pack it, as it's rather large...
I've also listed the other items, hopefully they sell too, could do with a bit of a boost this week.

Well done on the vented sales. I think this miserable weather doesn’t help everyone’s mood mine included. Your doing great as always x
