I didn't know about that tip, thanks bizzie! At the moment they've been drying on the radiator so the downstairs of our house smells like wet teenage boys shoes.  :s

Today I've transferred my cash ISA out to a better rate account with trading 212. Hopefully I can start building that up to a good amount again now after paying a lump sum off my mortgage with savings last year.

I really feel like hibernating for a good few years. Anyone else?
It’s been a really stressful day on top of a really stressful week so far and I can feel myself getting to the end of my rope with everything. DS and I have both had tears tonight over a disagreement which has really left me feeling rubbish. OH is swinging from either crying uncontrollably to being really angry and shouty over work, and a family member is expecting me to take action over something to do with my parents health that I can’t control, seemingly forgetting I’m hundreds of miles away and they’re a couple of miles down the road from them.

DS is out at his sports club, I’ve asked his father to drop him home tonight as he is at the same sports club and has to pass my house (but it’s usually too much trouble to give lifts 😒), so I’ve had a hot shower and am now sat under a blanket on the sofa, hiding from the world. I’ve even shouted at ‘Alexa’ for not listening to me and rabbiting on. And then I apologised. I can’t help wondering how the hell my life got to be like this.

I am feeling quite low at the moment. Trying very hard to be a Pollyanna about things.
Make sure you are taking time for yourself and doing things you enjoy too. Little acts of self care do not necessarily mean getting nails done, but having time to have a cuppa in silence, or spending time on a hobby. You need a break from things too. <3

Sorry to hear you're feeling down, Fox. Hopefully once the move is sorted and you've tackled the debts you can move on and settle a bit. It's horrible living in limbo. xx

I think there must be something in the air as I'm not in a good place at the moment either. All you can keep doing is your best and if that's not enough for some people that's their issue not yours.

The book zapping funds and latest vinted sale funds both came in today so that's £13.75 sent to the CC. I'm waiting for a refund to clear for something for DS's birthday that has gone missing in the post, once that and some recent payments I've made are showing on the balance, I'll go ahead and clear it with the gifts pot.

I've listed another item on vinted today - something I bought in a charity shop last week but was too big. There's also been a lot of interest in the high value item I'm selling on there but I'm loathed to take offers on it as it's more than worth the price I've listed it for. The ebay items are also up to around £80 which is great.
I still need to get to the bank and pay in the coins,, if not later today then tomorrow morning. I am waiting for another parcel to arrive today and then that's DS's birthday gifts done from myself and my parents. I picked up some more clothes yesterday in the sports shop and used up £24 of loyalty credit towards them. Most of it was on sale too with an extra 20% off sale prices although still massively overpriced in my opinion as most branded sportswear is.

The bathroom and downstairs loo has had a blitz today even dismantling the shower screen doors and giving them a scrub. We have a corner curved shower cubicle and I would never choose to have one again. The track where the doors slide gets so gunky which never seemed to happen in previous square shaped showers I've had. Not to mention the cubicle isn't actually watertight and leaks on both sides thanks to the cr&p job the plumber did. I've also scrubbed the kitchen sink, next job is to hoover through the house.
I need to stock up on some cleaning products & shampoo/conditioner so I'll pop to HB's later whilst attempting to pay the money into the bank. I also need to pick up some flowers and a card for a friend's birthday - I best get going! x

Afternoon all, I hope everyone had a good weekend. I wasn't feeling great this weekend, think I had a bit of a bug, so spent a lot of the weekend sleeping and still feel tired today. DS stayed with his Dad so as not to catch anything.

Four of the ebay items sold and made just under £200 which I was thrilled about. I also had a couple of vinted sales which made £11 combined. I wrapped all the parcels last night and they've all been sent off today so that's out of the way. The ebay funds have been received and sent straight to the CC so I won't have to transfer as much from the 'gifts' pot to cover it. The vinted funds will also likely go to the card when they clear.
I've chased the £132 again and have been told it should show by Thursday. If it doesn't I will be claiming via my credit card as I paid for it using that. It's been one issue after another with this company and I won't be buying from them again.
Child benefit has been paid in today, I'm ok for money at the moment as I don't need to spend much this week so I'm going to allocate it towards next month's budget so I'm a month ahead with the CB. It gets paid late in the month otherwise and I won't be short for allocating funds in the budget at the beginning of the month this way.
I've transferred £650 from premium bonds to my new ISA account this weekend too. £350 of that is DS's saving for his 'big trip' spending money which he won't need for over a year, the other £300 is the holiday pot I'm saving £100 a month into. At least this way it will receive some interest for DS and myself instead of sitting in the PB's with very little chance of winning. I've just left £25 in the PB's account to keep it open. I can keep track of whose money is who's via YNAB which is what I've been doing with the PB's account thus far. My old ISA is on the way to this new higher interest account too after being transferred out. I'm looking forward to building this up and seeing the daily interest earned via the app is motivating.

  • Hey @MeandO so sorry to hear you've been feeling low and under the weather.  I've been the same, there's definitely something in the air.  Hope you are feeling a bit better now.  And wow, well done on your sales, you've done brilliantly and must be so chuffed.  I had a look in my wardrobe at the weekend, but I really don't think there's anything much I can sell to be honest.  I really need to start to think about trying to earn some extra money.  A friend of mine has got an ice cream van and she's asked if I'll help her out, but that won't be til the summer time, so that might be an option.

Hope things with your parents are okay, and with your DS too.  Is he  home from his dads tonight?
