Hi, Oh O only wished it was that sinmple,
When the ex solicitors error was first discovered they assured us that no way would this come back on us !
We then tried to get them to talk to the buyer but their response was - "when you sort your problem contact us then!" they have contacted their insurers and are now waiting for me to battle out any losses costing even more money - but I have to recind the sale to be able to do his.
Have only read up-to-this point. Solicitor firms carry professional indemnity insurance. I think it is a requirement. The premiums have leaped upwards recently, given challenging times and more solicitor firms vulnerable to post credit-glory years action against them. The higher premiums have put strain on some smaller firms.
You won't get an opinion from me about this matter you've raised, or some jump-to-conclusion as others have made to this point. I understand the situation you've outlined. Sounds complicated indeed. I'll continue reading.0 -

I feel your pain it cost me £12K to Sue a negligent Surveyor the Alliance and Leicester sent. When I won they complained my costs were excessive and tried to counterclaim thier costs of £35K!! They were not successful I might add. Another point is if you win you only get 75% of your costs back anyway. How have your costs got so high? I arranged a standing order of £600 / month when I started my case with my solicitors to avoid this.0 -
Interesting story, now that I've caught up with the most recent events. Sorry OP I can't make any other helpful posts, for the position you know find yourself in.0

Hello again wellfedup,
Can't believe you are still in this situation - somehow I missed your update in the spring (see post 60 above).
You've probably thought of these, but anyway: with it now being pre-election season, it's just possible your MP will be more inclined to pull out the stops than before? And I know you considered contacting the press before, but did you try Private Eye? I think they'd take an interest in how the complaints procedure has failed you, and possibly bring your case to the attention of the powers that be.
I can't claim to understand all the twists and turns but it seems so wrong that you're held to ransom for money you shouldn't have needed to spend, and then left high and dry by deliberate delaying tactics.
I'm hoping the fighting talk is a sign that you and yours are in robust good health, despite everything - obviously, this must get to you at times, but are you generally OK?:T:j :TMFiT-T2 No.120|Challenge started 12.12.09|MFD 12.12.12 :j:T:j0 -

Hi, mrs-deadline and all,
Yes it still goes on and the Solicitor is a friend of the local MP who is probably as bad.
I will have my day with this squirmy Solicitor, he's dumped us in the sh**t and he knows it.
"What goes around comes around"
Will look up "Private eye" never thought of that.
Thanks again.0
