Paypal Problems Linking Bank Account
Keep getting 'sorry we're having some technical issues at the moment' when trying to link a bank account to Paypal.
Anyone know if this is indeed likely to be a temporay technical issue or is it something else?
Many thanks

Best bet on that is to ring Pay Pal.sheffieldeagle said:Hi

I have had the same issue for years. I was able to link to another donor/dormant account I have with the same bank, and that worked. I periodically try to link to my active account and get the same error. I gave up - any PayPal purchases come from my Amex card, and the odd receipt ends ends up in my donor account and moved over. I'm using PayPal less and less in any case.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & investments, and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. I had an account that was previously linked and it would keep telling me there were technical issues when I was trying to set up the direct debit again. I phoned them and they fixed it. I had the same issue again another time and I think I found a different way around it but I don't remember how, it might have involved using their automated chat bot.1

Hello! It's possible that the error message you're receiving is due to a temporary technical issue with PayPal's system or with the bank's system. It's also possible that there could be an issue with the information you're entering, such as incorrect account or routing numbers.
If you've already checked to make sure the information you're entering is correct, I would recommend waiting a little while and trying again later. If the issue persists, you may want to contact PayPal's customer support for further assistance. They can help you troubleshoot the issue and provide more information on what might be causing the error message.

Not the OP, but I have the same problem. I have tried various times over the years and always the same error. I can't be bothered contacting PayPal, I don't hear good things about the customer service. I have a workaround - a donor account with the same bank/amosmosley said:Hello! Many thanks for all the responses. Account now linked. I chose the manual method (they send a payment for you to verify) and that worked fine. I've used 'chat' previously with them and they are very good at responding if anyone needs to contact them.
