Were you with Utilita on the 21st August 2022?
If not, whomever was your electricity supplier on that date will be responsible for giving you the WHD, if you are eligible.0 -
I was on Utilita on that date0

I called the WHDS number and had it confirmed that the instructions to pay was sent in January.1

You could make a complaint to Utilita, but the WHD doesn't have to be paid till Mar.
So you might get a reply stating to just need to wait.

I am currently in receipt of Guarantee pension credit since June 2022. Have not received WHD confirmation letter. Rang the WHD helpline 3 times so far.1st time told to wait til end of January. 2nd time told that DWP records showed I wasn't receiving any pension credit and to send DWP a copy of my award letter, despite the fact that DWP had processed the claim and sent the letter out to me, and also been paying me since June 2022. I wander how many recipients of Guarantee pension credit are not automatically receiving the WHD because the DWP are not updating their records that the helpline are using. What a shambles, I suspect tens of thousands, despite being legally entitled to it.

I called the WHD hotline on 7th February, was told I did qualify even though I didn't have a letter. As I'm on Tax Credits they had to forward it to DWP for confirmation but it would be paid. Fast forward to today when I get a letter from WHD saying they couldn't automatically confirm my eligibility (well no, that's why you were sending it to the DWP!) so I now had to provide proof. Only way to do it is post a copy of my claim so will see what happens. Total mess up.

That's what I had, I saw some guidance that said it was based on salary for the last FY but that wasn't on the letter. I had to send a copy of my last tax credit award notice which shows that I had a valid claim, it does however have my estimated salary which is over the cut off for 3 children, although the letter sent after August had only 2 children as the 3rd was too old for the claim when it was dated.Chocmonster7 said:I called the WHD hotline on 7th February, was told I did qualify even though I didn't have a letter. As my account is already in credit by a fair amount, and I can manage without the money it all felt more hassle than it's worth - maybe that's their planMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

I hadn't received any letter from the DWP even though the WHD checker said I would qualify. I phoned the DWP WHD helpline in February, the person I spoke to did some checks and confirmed I did qualify and asked for certain information to set the wheels in motion and since then... nothing. I've had no confirmation letter (assuming one is ever sent out) from the DWP and no Warm Home Discount credit to my EDF electricity account. The DWP WHD helpline I phoned has now closed so I can't go back to the DWP to query whether anything was ever done. The whole system is a shambles.2

Did you phone the DWP recently? I phoned the DWP WHD helpline yesterday and there was a recorded message to say the helpline was now closed, as of 28 February. If you did phone the WHD helpline, which number did you dial? i dialled 0800 107 8002.[Deleted User] said:
Update: EDF say nothing on their system from dwp and that I need to call dwp, again! Called dwp warm home discount scheme "helpline", they blame the energy company.[Deleted User] said:I received the letter November, called the whds number, I am entitled but yet its now March 20th and still not received. Contacted energy company they just repeat will be upto 31st March. So 11days to go but what happens if it hasn't arrived by then. This new way was supposed to be simpler no need to apply but I've spent more time chasing this than any year in the past. And up until this year I've always received by December. Fed up of this government!
What happened to this new way being simplified? I've never had an issue the old ways for years was much more simpler. Spent hours on phone and edf chat since November and still might not get even though told I am eligible by dwp. Makes no sense. As a disabled person I can be doing without this extra stress.
Sorry for the moaning just annoyed!
