Hello Sunday Evening!OOOPS! Did not mean to go so long without posting! Its been a wonderful Christmas chaos with having the kids back in the hive, we have eaten soooo much chocolate, enjoyed your typical Christmas movies and played lots of different games. I've totally switched off from worrying over money, work etc and its been good to take some time out. I've been proud of myself for getting out regularily with my eldest and we have been running the C25K and got to 8 mins running without stopping... yay go me!Today though I needed to get back to some reality. Its been the sad day we handover the boys back to their dad & family for their second half of the holidays. OH was kind to take them down to the city so I got a relaxing day at home. Its been an easy day catching up with Christmas specials. There was a degree of procrastination as I've been putting off looking at my finances. Its been a big source of stress recently but have made a start. On a more positive note - diet definately starts 1st Jan. Its been diffcult to diet when OH was in treatment but he's stable and at a healthy weight so its time for me to start looking after myself a bit more. I'd love to regulate by eating to enable me to get a better sleep pattern.2026 financial goals & challenges!

I've decided to start my proper weight loss journey in February. I've already started to make small changes so I'm not doing everything at once, like increasing my water consumption, going outside daily - even if it is only for a couple of minutes.
I wish you both luck with being successful 🤗Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Hello Chilly Tuesday! So yesterday was back to work day and my boss called me for a catch up as I WFH. We discussed current workload and the conversation about the temporary contract came up. Sadly and honestly no real surprise this can't be extended so will revert back to my pre-contract terms of part time 20hrs a week.I've had the worry of this hanging over me for 2 months, its frankly taken its mental toll on me but its good to have it confirmed where I stand but its mentally hard. I've had periods of depression before and i'm working on myself to not go backwards. So if anyone has any suggestions to keep on the right path i'd be keen for the ideas. Looking for a better job is the obvious solution or a second job and granted that will be on the list but its not going to be straight forward due to where I live, access to transport etc. I'm going to start with a bit of mood board / vision boarding, focusing on things I can control such as diet, exercise. I've also been in contact with a local lady who does some special offers on head massages. Her offers are usually for days I work but am looking into whether I can book something for one of my week days off in the next week or so. Hopefully thats confirmed today.2026 financial goals & challenges!

I'm sorry to hear about the job going part time. Can you access any benefits to top up your income whilst you look for another job?
A vision board is always my starting point. I'd put on mine, happy in my job (as I don't particularly like my job) and earning more money - pretty vague really as I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. We have the VB on our stairs, propped up, as we wander past a few times a day I always read it and imagine it to be true, and a job literally landed in my lap right before Christmas. More money and I hope I like it better but that remains to be seen. Good luck with yours, fill it with things you love but also can imagine coming true ...not the lotto wins that might seem far fetched but a good full time position that was made just for you, or windfalls that might be just enough to see you through etc. 💖Emergency Fund goal - £1000/2000
