  • I got a parking ticket for parking in a disabled bay in Tesco's Duke Green.  However, I was not there, and the picture shows a car which I traded in 2 months ago!

Which must be still registered to you, meaning the DVLA will continue to hand out your data for all PCNs & speeding tickets until you tell them otherwise.  Errrm, you didn't just hand over the logbook to the garage did you?

Please say you DIDN'T trust the garage to fill in the sale slip.  It's clear they didn't tell the DVLA. This was down to you to update the logbook...or did you send off the slip and the DVLA has lost it?

    HORIZON PARKING
I have just received a £51 fine from Horizon Parking.  I sent them a copy of the parking ticket to prove that I had purchased a valid ticket at the time of parking which they have ignored.  I am 80 years old with heart problems.  My wife has just completed a course of chemotherapy.  We are not in position to battle against this injustice so we have paid the £51. IT seems that paying their parking charge and keeping the ticket as proof, is no defence.  Because of the fear of Horizon adding large amounts to this unjust charge, which we are not in a position to battle against, we have paid the £51.  We can only hope that Horizon Parking will not repeat this.

Sorry to hear your situation. Was this Tesco? Write a letter to the Tesco CEO if that is the case.

I would also email your MP.

It was the Horizon carpark near the Brighton Cancer Clinic where I went for chemotherapy.

Sorry to hear this, but you never received a "fine" it was just a speculative charge, and Horizon are despicable for paying on situations like this.
According to the hospital website there are parking concessions for people in your situation, and also a free car park opposite for the cancer facility.
You should have really taken this up with the hospital in the first instance PALS is the first port of call.

You paid it? There was no fear of added 'large amounts' and no battle needed. I take it this was at the Horizon Centre?

    https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/get-help/macmillan-services/macmillan-horizon-centre

I'm local and I know the place.

Is it pay & display? Surely not. It's free parking for cancer patients in the car park immediately opposite the centre.

Ask your constituency MP to write to the centre manager, and the MacMillan/Citizens Advice guy there (I think his name is Martyn) and Horizon Parking and the BPA on your behalf to push for a full refund of your money. Your MP will do this.
