Be aware if you apply for the special offer case as mentioned on this site/newsletter they make it very difficult to cancel subscription. It has to be done by phone and you get a hard seller at the other end of the line.

Hello @MichMich22,
This deal?
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/beer-52/#54666
The MSE deal is a one-off and doesn't sign you up to a subscription so there's nothing to cancel.2 -
It seems odd that a money saving site encourage people to buy cheap alcohol. I suppose it is money saving but doesn’t seem to sit well with the other money saving advice they offer.Would be surprising if Martin Lewis dedicated one of his TV shows to tips on how do buy beer and wine for a cheap price.0

Its not really "cheap alcohol" though, the site isn't telling people that Iceland have bottles of White Lightning for 99p.goater78 said:It seems odd that a money saving site encourage people to buy cheap alcohol. Beer52 sells premium beer so its about how to get a quality product for a lower price.4 -
Yes that’s fine I suppose. Just seems to me that alcohol is similar to gambling in that for many people it’s not a problem but does unfortunately cause serious issues to some people. I don’t think this site advertises gambling sites where you can get a great deal so a bit surprised they advertise alcohol deals.jon81uk said:

if MSE is turned into a nicey-nicey middle class website then it will no longer appeal to many low-income people who need help most. And wealthy will swap their tips and advice and the poor will be excluded as usual.
You never know how many people begin a web journey here because of a SkyTV offer or something but then discover how to get free home insulation, or a court order against an abusive ex.0 -
Those who do have an actual problem with drinking won't be looking at 16 330ml craft beers for £20, there are much cheaper options available.goater78 said:

I'd like to know a little more about this.MichMich22 said:Be aware if you apply for the special offer case as mentioned on this site/newsletter they make it very difficult to cancel subscription. It has to be done by phone and you get a hard seller at the other end of the line.
The MSE article specifically says:This is a one-off box, you won't be signed up to a subscription.
Something doesn't sound quite right.

I assume the OP didn't click on the special offer link on the MSE site, they went direct to Beer52 and bought a different offer.Pollycat said:

No point complaining about an offer if you've not followed the instructions...0 -
I've had multiple trial offers with Beer52 and Wine52. Although it does say on the web site that you must phone to cancel, I've always just emailed and received a confirmation back via email.0
