Did you have to submit an export meter reading?

I have received confirmation that my switch is now complete but Octopus say they haven’t had my opening meter reading yet. I have emailed a reply with a manual export reading but I can’t recall anyone else having had to do this. This is the relevant part of the email - I have been on Flux import for a month so assume this is just a standard email as it doesn’t make much sense in my situation. I am not moving my FiT at this stage.

We haven't had your opening meter reading yet. We use this reading to open your account, and we send it to your old supplier so they can close your account at the same point. In our experience, it can take a long time to get your final bill from your old supplier - anything from 8 weeks to 8 months - and we know how frustrating this is.

FWIW I don’t have a battery - Octopus are aware of this as the FiT register does still show me having a battery but I had to explain I had it removed as it was a waste of time and energy.

Edit: my Octopus app and dashboard still show my tariff as Octopus Flux Import with just the import rates showing. Does it update?

This is a standard email, ignore it, I got the same, everything is a bit of a mess to be honest

Good Energy told me on 14 April (text of email below) that they were stopping export payments but didn’t ask for a FiT meter reading. I had given them one about 3 weeks prior to that (when I was considering moving my FiT to Octopus but didn’t bother in the end) so maybe they will use that.

We have now processed it on your account that we will stop making deemed export payments for your installation as your export is moving to Octopus.

We will continue to pay for generation payments.

I did forward it to Octopus as part of chasing them up to get on with transferring me to metered export. I have been in Flux import for over a month.

I am pleased to see my Flux Export showing in the Octopus App this morning, nice to be able to now monetise the export from my panels fitted last month

Still waiting for mine to appear but Octopus have assured me that the switch to metered export has taken place and I will in due course see all my export earned to date appear in my account. 

Octopus personnel have been great.

Well I decided to give it a go - literally moving from Go (which had 7.5p/kWh cheap rate until beginning of July).
Applied this lunchtime and already swapped over on the import, any ideas how long the export takes to swap over (already on their SEG 4.1p/kWh)?
Offsetting my Gas usage is the aim over the next 4 months or so before swapping back to Go or Intelligent.

Thanks, you'd of thought it could be the same, if you're currently exporting with Octopus already as they have all the details already.
