EcoScruples said:Confirmation just came through that we are now on flux export so all in all it took a shade over 4 days to switch, very decent.
Now to be brave and have a play with my battery settings
I have received confirmation that my switch is now complete but Octopus say they haven’t had my opening meter reading yet. I have emailed a reply with a manual export reading but I can’t recall anyone else having had to do this. This is the relevant part of the email - I have been on Flux import for a month so assume this is just a standard email as it doesn’t make much sense in my situation. I am not moving my FiT at this stage.
Your electricity switch is officially complete. Congratulations - you're now a customer with Octopus Energy.
Important: Your final bill with your old electricity supplier.
We haven't had your opening meter reading yet. We use this reading to open your account, and we send it to your old supplier so they can close your account at the same point. In our experience, it can take a long time to get your final bill from your old supplier - anything from 8 weeks to 8 months - and we know how frustrating this is.FWIW I don’t have a battery - Octopus are aware of this as the FiT register does still show me having a battery but I had to explain I had it removed as it was a waste of time and energy.
Edit: my Octopus app and dashboard still show my tariff as Octopus Flux Import with just the import rates showing. Does it update?Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0 -

No I didn't get asked for this but I'm already with octopus so it's a simple switch for me.
I had to give a final/start reading when I joined from eon.4.3kwp JA panels, Huawei 3.68kw Hybrid inverter, Huawei 10kw Lunar 2000 battery, Myenergi eddi, South facing array with a 15 degree roof pitch, winter shade.1 -
Once I’d got my export MPAN and octopus were getting readings every half hour I made the change from Outgoing to Flux on Saturday. Over the weekend import showed as Flux and export as Outgoing. This morning (Monday) export has also changed to Flux.8 x Jinko Tiger Neo 54c 415W, Huawei 3k L1 HV ph Hybrid inverter and 2 x 5kWh LUNA batteries on 15° roof facing SW on the southern edge of Bristol.1

This is a standard email, ignore it, I got the same, everything is a bit of a mess to be honest1 -
Thanks for the replies.
Yes, I was aware that I can’t have deemed export and metered export at the same time.My query related more to procedure. I am just moving my export from deemed which was with Good energy to metered with Octopus. The email seems to be a generic one for someone changing electricity supplier. We haven't had your opening meter reading yet. We use this reading to open your account, and we send it to your old supplier so they can close your account at the same point.
They weren’t specific about which meter reading they wanted. Presumably Good Energy would need the FiT meter reading while Octopus would need the Export meter reading but they could get that from the smart meter. What readings were others asked for?Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)0 -
If your FITS are still with Good Energy you will get another email telling you to take an export reading and send it to good energy explaining your on metered exports now, then once they confirm they have received it you need to send the confirmation back to Octopus, they won't actually pay you until they've had that confirmation, but will record your export.
I'm still waiting for BG to get back to me after two weeks.1 -
I’m not sure why Good Energy would need an Export meter reading - FiT meter, yes, but they have no use for an export meter reading.Good Energy told me on 14 April (text of email below) that they were stopping export payments but didn’t ask for a FiT meter reading. I had given them one about 3 weeks prior to that (when I was considering moving my FiT to Octopus but didn’t bother in the end) so maybe they will use that.
Apologies for all the confusion and delays.
We have now processed it on your account that we will stop making deemed export payments for your installation as your export is moving to Octopus.
We will continue to pay for generation payments.
