Hello, I cancelled a flight, charged £200 cancellation fee. I have waited 2 months for the refund and still not received it. I contacted the travel agent over the past few days and given lots of excuses. They has now informed me that the refund was processed, I asked for confirmation of the transaction and it has been put onto someone else's card and I need to ask them for it. I have spoken to Citizens Advice and they informed me that the travel agent is in breech of contract and to compose a letter to the travel agent. Would I be able to claim compensation for this? Thank you

What's the full story ?
Has it been put on some random persons card or was it a booking for a number or people and it's gone back onto anothers card ?1 -
If it is a friend/travel companion’s card then you will just have to ask them for the returned money. If this other person was the lead booker then I can see why the airline would refund that payment card/method.0

It sounds like someone else such as a friend, paid for the tickets so they refunded the person that paid?
That is correct. They refund whoever paid.
If you paid another person, then you would have to ask them for the money as stated.
Otherwise, there has to be more to the story.
Who is this other person? Do you know them?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

If the refund has gone into the lead booker's account (who isn't the OP), I think the advice from CAB would have been different.0
